Police have charged 18-year-old Cody Unger with the Tuesday morning robbery of the Walgreens Pharmacy at 518 Donelson Pike.

According to police, at 2 a.m. Tuesday Unger approached the pharmacy counter, which he had visited hours earlier to fill a prescription for pain medication. On this second visit, Unger allegedly demanded hydrocodone and oxycodone at gunpoint and left with about 700 pain pills.

Unger, however, had apparently provided identification during his previous visit to fill his prescription. Later, according to police, Unger admitted his involvement in the robbery, and the gun used in the hold-up was recovered from a dumpster near the pharmacy.

He was allegedly in possession of a small amount of the stolen pills when police arrested him. Unger, of Edinburgh lane in Old Hickory, faces an aggravated robbery charge and remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond.

In prison he will get his meds free. I will cheer the day criminals actually pay back their "debt to society" with actual money. Maybe their social security can be docked or withheld.
