The man suspected of robbing two Nashville banks and trying to rob a third was arrested Sunday morning following a tip to Crime Stoppers.
Agents from the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force arrested Robert Michael Durham, 31, at a hotel in Athens, Ala., at 3 a.m. Sunday. Police claim Durham is the man who robbed the Regions Bank at 15580 Old Hickory Blvd. Tuesday after first trying to rob the Fifth Third Bank at 495 Old Hickory Blvd.
Detectives also believe Durham, of Brentwood, robbed U.S. Bank’s 1711 Broadway branch on Oct. 14.
According to Metro police, Durham has previous convictions for selling cocaine, theft, vandalism and larceny. He faces federal charges for the bank robberies.
Durham also faces a harassment charge from Metro after he allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend back in July.
