Police find woman dead in north Nashville

Update 10 p.m.: Medical examiner to use fingerprint analysis to identify body.

Metro police found the body of a black female in an abandoned north Nashville home early Monday morning after they received an anonymous tip to check the house.

The woman’s body was discovered just after 4:30 a.m. at 1817 15th Ave. N. Reports indicate the woman suffered blunt force trauma to the back of the head. Police say they have classified the death as a homicide.

Police have not released the woman’s identity, and they have no suspects.

Neighbors said the house, most recently used as rental property, has been vacant for some time.
