Police ID East Nashville woman as apparent hit-and-run victim

Police believe a woman found dead in an East Nashville roadway on Wednesday morning may have been the victim of a hit-and-run incident.

Livia Rose Smith, 32, was found lying in the 2600 block of Barclay Drive, about a block from her home. A motorist found her at around 5:10 a.m. She had a head injury and bruises on her knees and hands.

The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Traffic Unit was investigating the crime. Officers are continuing to seek information about Smith’s whereabouts prior to the incident.

Police urge anyone with information regarding Smith’s death to call the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
