Police ID man killed in East Nashville fire

Firefighters say they found Frank Kidd, 57, dead in his home at 911 Riverside Drive just after 6 a.m. Monday.

Metro Police say Kidd, the only resident inside the home at the time of the fire, died in sleep. He had been sleeping in a hospital bed in the home's den.

The house was filled with smoke when the firefighters arrived, according to police.

The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
