Police have identified the man fatally shot Thursday night near the intersection of Walton Lane and Maplewood Trace as Horace Alfred Fentress Jr., 29.
A friend who was with Fentress at the time of the shooting, around 10:30 p.m., told police that two armed black men robbed them, shooting Fentress and pistol-whipping the friend before fleeing in a gold or tan Chevrolet Impala driven by a third individual, police said.
Detectives are still working to identify the suspects in the shooting and ask anyone with information on either the suspect or the car to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.
What is the solution to this disproportionate disregard for human life among young black males?
