Detectives are asking for help identifying the person or persons responsible for Sunday night’s shooting death of 22-year-old Dorell Hayes.

Police found Hayes lying on the ground in the 600 block of South Sixth Street in the James Cayce public housing development after responding to a shots-fired call. Witnesses told police a gold Mercury Grand Marquis left the area driving at a high rate of speed.

Hayes, of South 13th Street, died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. According to police, Hayes had two previous drug possession convictions.

Anyone with information on who may have killed Hayes or the gold Marquis can call police at 862-7525 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Again, the ONLY reason that citicens should be willing to help find the killer is to get the death sentence! LET STRETGANGS KILL EACH OTHER!!! Round them ALL up and put them in a giant room each with a gun FULL of bullets!! Lock the door like a bank vault and let them shoot each other!!! We'll NEVER have to worry about them AGAIN!!!
