Metro Police are still trying to identify suspects in Monday night's shooting of two teens who were standing between two north Nashville houses.

Kendall Davis, 18, and Xavierian Gooch, 17, both 10th graders at Whites Creek High School, were standing near the 2700 block of Old Matthews Road when the shooting occurred, police said.

Witnesses told police that an older white or cream-colored Nissan Maxima stopped on the street. A passenger got out, retrieved a rifle from the trunk, and specifically opened fire on Davis and Gooch as the teens attempted to run.

Davis was hit in the head, and Gooch was hit in the upper torso. Both are in critical condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the persons inside the Maxima, and/or why Davis and Gooch were shot, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
