Staff reports

Metro police have made an arrest in the attempted robbery Wednesday morning of Regions Bank’s downtown branch.

In the incident, the suspect allegedly walked into the bank and presented a robbery demand note to the teller who refused to comply. He walked out of the bank without receiving any money.

Central precinct officers arrested Charles Moore Jr. Thursday morning after they spotted a man who strongly resembled the suspect from surveillance camera footage.

Moore, 23, was walking on Rosa Parks Boulevard near Locklayer Street. During interviews with a FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, police said Moore admitted to the attempted robbery at the Deaderick Street branch.

Police said Moore, of Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, will be charged federally with one count of attempted bank robbery. He has a previous conviction for indecent exposure.

Lock his ass up and hopefully this will teach him a lesson. However, once he is out he will be doing the same thing and there is no hope for people like this.
