Metro police officers arrested a 19-year-old man Friday on murder charges in the fatal shooting of Dontrell McFadden last October on Nashboro Boulevard near a golf course.
Police arrested Julian Adams on a grand jury indictment charging him with first-degree murder in McFadden’s death. Adams was arrested at his Nashboro Boulevard apartment.
Police charged Christian Walters, 17, with murder in this case last year. According to police, McFadden, 21, of Murfreesboro Pike, was walking toward an apartment complex to meet friends when he was shot at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 7.
Walters, who was a passenger in a car driven by Adams, admitted he fired shots at McFadden after the two exchanged opposing gang-related gestures. McFadden later died at Southern Hills Medical Center.
