A 16-year-old Madison youth is facing charges after he allegedly held the driver of a gold Chevrolet Impala and gunpoint early Monday morning, Metro Police said.

Police say the teen is one of three suspects who approached the victims as they were getting out of their car on Creekwood Drive, robbed them at gunpoint, and drove off in the car.

The teen was arrested Tuesday after officers spotted the stolen car on Westchester Drive near Gallatin Pike. When the suspect and another 15-year-old drove off in the car, officers stopped them and took the two into custody.

Police recovered 16.1 grams of marijuana from the vehicle along with a weapon believed to have been used in the robbery.

The weapon had been stolen during a residential burglary in Nashville, police said.

The 16-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with robbery, theft, and unlawful marijuana and weapon possession, police said. The other teen is charged in Juvenile Court with theft and unlawful marijuana and weapon possession.
