Police are searching for a stolen 6-foot-3-inches tall bronze statue of R.H. Boyd, which they suspect the thieves may try to sell as scrap metal.
Metro Nashville Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for stealing the bronze statue of the found of the R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation, which had been bolted onto a platform in front the business at 6717 Centennial Blvd. since 1974.
According to police the statue weighs several hundred pounds and was taken between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 a.m. Dec. 6.
Detectives suspect the thieves may have either tried to sell the statue for scrap or could try to sell it in the near future.
Anyone with information about the statue or those who took it can call West Precinct Investigations at 862-7385 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
Next, someone should steal that horrid statue of Nathaniel Bedford Forrest and sell it for scrap metal. Make a profit and do a public service at the same time.
Bart did it, on a dare.
I hope all scrap dealers have been notified.

Amen WickedTribe Amen! that statue is much more than an eyesore it is offensive to most who see it.
Lol...LMAO!!! They "STOLE" this statue? How big was it? And it weighed howmuch? If people are STUPID enough to "NOT" see somebody STEELING this 6 foot statue that wieghs HUNDREDS of pounds, then the culprits won't have any problems hiding it right under police noses. All they have to do is blend it in with all the OTHER statues they have...they'll never notice!!! LMAO!!
Shall I post the picture on my facebook page so people will see what a 6 (six) foot statue looks like so "IF" they see it, they can laugh about it too?
