Metro Police are searching for convicted violent sex offender Billy Gene Oden because he failed to report the department’s Sex Offender Registry office last month.
Oden, 38, was convicted in Maury County of attempted rape in 1991 and of attempted aggravated rape in 1997, police said. Last year, Oden was convicted of invasion of privacy in Nashville after he was caught hiding behind a woman’s house with a pair of binoculars. Oden also has previous convictions for patronizing prostitution, aggravated burglary and theft.
In October, he registered with police that he was homeless. Registered sex offenders who are homeless are required to report monthly.
Anyone with information concerning Oden’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Persons who contact Crime can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
