Police hope finding what may be a silver two-door Honda Accord with its back window shattered from gunfire leads them to identifying a burglary suspect.
Late Sunday morning an Old Hickory homeowner, who was in the basement of his home with his young son, heard a crash coming from upstairs and went to investigate. According to police, the 37-year-old homeowner, of Stone Hall Boulevard, found a burglar coming from a bedroom. The two began to struggle, with the suspect reaching for his back waistband as if he had a gun.
Once the homeowner pushed the suspect toward the front door and the man ran to his car, the homeowner ran to get a pistol from his bedroom. Police said he told them that when he saw the suspect apparently reaching for something in his car the homeowner fired several shots at the suspect’s car, hitting the back window and perhaps the side glass as well.
Police described the burglar as a white male with a shaved head. He is in his early 30s, is approximately 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts during the Sunday morning burglary.
