Metro Police are seeking a woman for questioning in connection with Thursday night’s fatal shooting of Frank J. Wilson in East Nashville.

Metro Police believe Shateka Morton, 31, may have been present at the time of the shooting and likely has information about the gunman. She may be driving a blue 1995 Chevrolet Caprice. Morton is wanted for questioning only, police say.

Wilson, 24, was shot in the street at 10:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Seventh Street. At the time of the shooting, police say Wilson was arguing with a man who has not yet been identified. Wilson was immediately transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died early this morning. He lived on Evanston Place in East Nashville, near the shooting site.

Police ask that anyone who sees Morton or a car fitting her vehicle’s description, or who may know Morton’s whereabouts, contact East Precinct Investigations at 862-7600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
