Metro police want the public’s help locating a convicted rapist who they believe may have valuable information in the case of the May 11 stabbing death of 57-year-old Faye Burns.

Hermitage Precinct detectives have been in Clarksville this week looking for 60-year-old Clark B. Waterford III, who at one time had a relationship with Burns.

Waterford was last known to be homeless and has a pending probation violation warrant against him in Montgomery County. He was convicted in 2008 and 2009 of violating the conditions of the sex offender registry.

Burns was found dead in her Cannon Street apartment on May 11.

Police urged anyone seeing Waterford or knowing his whereabouts to contact detective Johnny Crumby at 862-7727 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
