Metro Police say they are looking for a silver Dodge Ram Hemi pickup truck that allegedly ran a stop sign and crashed into an elderly woman's home on Long Avenue late Wednesday night.

The homeowner, 97-year-old Gladys McCullough, said she was in her bedroom when the wreck occurred. She thought the thunder was particularly loud, but found it was something else when she got up to investigate.

McCullough found a man and a pick-up truck had crashed into her living room.

The driver of the pickup truck, who witnesses described as a stocky white man in his early 20s, got out briefly but drove away before police arrived.

Police say witnesses said the driver had blood on the front of his clothing. Checks of area hospitals during the night were unsuccessful in locating the man.

The collision caused extensive damage to the home and the front end of the truck.

Anyone who sees or has information about the pickup truck or its driver, is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
