Metro police are in the process of identifying the person who wielded a knife Saturday night in the hold up of the Mapco at 1101 Bell Road.

According to the report, the suspect entered the store, pulled a large knife and demanded cash and a pack of cigarettes. The clerk complied with the suspect, who fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s with a mustache. He reportedly wore a black T-shirt, white and black checked shorts and a New York Yankees ball cap.

Police urge anyone who recognizes the suspect from the surveillance photos to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at nashvillecrimestoppers.com.

This is another example of how society failed someone. That darn knife jumped into this innocent man's hands, led him with magnetic force into the Mapco, then manipulated his vocal cords to demand money.

In other news, if you see a white man in Belle Meade wearing khaki shorts, a button-down shirt in pastel pink with 3/4 roll sleeves tucked in, and sandals...

Seriously... Most generic description of an Antioch stereotype ever.

... and the shorts are plaid, not "checked"...
