Predators GM Poile happy with direction of franchise

Being mentioned in the same sentence with legendary Detroit Red Wings coach Scotty Bowman and National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman is impressive enough.

Today at a luncheon in New York City, Nashville Predators general manager David Poile will join Bowman and Bettman as recipients of the Lester Patrick Award, presented annually "for outstanding service to hockey in the United States."

Poile is sandwiching the luncheon between Predators games. The team played Thursday night in Chicago and will play at 7 Saturday night at home against the Ottawa Senators.
