Protect children from dog bites

To a child, the wagging tail says a dog is friendly and harmless. But to a dog, a 40- or 50-pound child looking him in the eyes can represent a danger and a threat.

Today at 10:10 a.m., as a part of the summer enrichment program at Hattie Cotton Elementary School, the Health Department will teach children what to do and, just as importantly, what not to do if they are attacked by a dog.
