A Davidson County grand jury indicted a woman last week for filing a false report after they found she lied about being raped in her hotel room.

According to the arrest warrant, Melisa Anne Atchley, 33, later admitted lying to a Metro sex crimes detective after she told police in November that an unknown male and female forced their way into her room at the Hamilton Inn at 837 Briley Pkwy. before the woman forcibly performed cunnilingus on her and the male forced her to have sex with him.

Police said Atchley first reported she hadn’t spoken to the two before the alleged incident, but further investigation revealed that she had contacted the accused on the Quest phone chat line, which sells itself as a place for customers to meet local singles.

When police later confronted Atchley about her story, she admitted to having consensual sex with the man and woman after meeting them on the chat line and directing them to her hotel room. Police said she also admitted to falsely reporting the rape and lying to police during two interviews.

Police arrested Atchley in November and she bonded out on $10,000 that same day. Atchley’s arraignment is set for Wednesday, May 26.

This may have been setup to attempt to sue hotel. Police need to find out
if she had talked to attorney prior to reporting this fake incident. Incidents of this and others get crazier and crazier in this world!!

Obviously the woman was unsatisfied with the sex she received. It just goes to show you that references should be a necessity in business dealings with people you do not know.
