Remains found in field Saturday evening identified as those of missing 20-year-old man

Police have used dental records to identify the skeletal remains discovered Saturday evening in a field near the Hamilton Creek Apartments as that of 20-year-old missing person Olotu Gbasin.

Gbasin, of 3033 Owendale Drive, was reported missing in October and was on probation at the time of his death in connection to a 2010 felony marijuana conviction.

The medical examiner’s office and an anthropologist from Middle Tennessee State University continue to analyze the remains in an attempt to determine the cause of his death.
