Police arrested a convicted felon after a citizen reported him allegedly throwing a brick through a window of a Vaught Drive duplex.

Demario Sumlar, 24, faces charges of aggravated burglary, theft and evading arrest.

When officers arrived on the scene about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, they said they found Sumlar, of Boatner Drive, at the scene before he fled on foot. Metro police traced him to a parked stolen Honda Accord at a nearby apartment complex on Burgess Avenue.

The Accord was reported stolen from another address on Vaught Drive last week.

According to police, Sumlar has previously been convicted of aggravated assault, assault, resisting arrest and possessing a weapon while intoxicated.

Sumlar remains in jail in lieu of $32,000 bond.
