Metro Police released this surveillance video footage of the suspect in Thursday afternoon's robbery at First Tennessee Bank.

Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man believed responsible for at least two bank robberies in Nashville this week, including one Thursday morning.

Agents believe the same man is responsible for robbing First Tennessee Bank’s 2110 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. branch today at 9:45 a.m. and Wachovia Bank’s 618 Thompson Lane branch Monday afternoon.

In both robberies, the suspect approached the teller, implied he had a weapon, and was given cash. After Thursday’s robbery, he fled in a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by an unknown person.

Police described the suspect as a black man in his early 30s who is approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall with a medium build. He entered the bank this morning wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a dark West Virginia ball cap.

Anyone who has information concerning the robbery is urged to contact Detective Keith Sutherland with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
