A worker at Sun Cleaners in Nipper's Corner is lucky to be alive Monday after a robber allegedly held a gun to her head and demanded that she give him money from the register, according to Metro Police.
South Precinct detectives say the gunman entered the Old Hickory Boulevard business through a rear door just after 8 a.m.
The suspect allegedly escorted the worker to the front counter while holding a gun to her head, police said. The suspect then fled the business, firing a shot in the process.
Police describe the gunman as a black man in his early 20s, approximately 6 feet tall, with a 3- or 4-inch goatee.
At the time of the robbery, he was wearing all black with a black hood that had white spots.
He fled the business in a small silver car, probably a Pontiac, driven by a black man with dreadlocks.
Anyone having information on these two men is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
