It appears whoever slashed about 30 tires on 13 different vehicles in the River Fork Drive area in Bellevue overnight Tuesday did so out of plain meanness.
Residents in the Bellevue neighborhood discovered the vandalism when they got ready to leave for work Wednesday morning. School resource officers later went door to door in the area to investigate who may have been involved.
“Certainly, if it’s young people, the school resource officers might have an idea of who the residents may be describing,” said Don Aaron, police spokesman. “At this juncture the neighborhood thought is that it’s juveniles who were responsible for this malicious, mischievous behavior.”
Occasionally, any one neighborhood may see a rash of car burglaries, but the uncommon extent of vandalism in this incident “appears to be just meanness on the part of an individual or individuals,” Aaron said.
The same neighborhood was victimized by the May flood.
