A convicted sex offender is facing a 22-count grand jury indictment in the wake of his April arrest for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in a Madison hotel room.

Samuel Dorsey, 32, is charged with four counts of rape, one count of aggravated kidnapping, four counts of violating the sexual offender registry, two counts of perjury regarding the registry and 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

In April, police said Dorsey lured the 17-year-old to a hotel room under the guise of modeling for him while he took photographs of the teen. Dorsey then allegedly raped her before her friends, concerned for her safety, showed up, leading to Dorsey’s arrest.

He was also convicted in 2007 of sexual battery for forcibly fondling a 14-year-old girl, and he has previous aggravated robbery and theft convictions.

Dorsey reported to be homeless on the sexual offender registry since early February, but police said he had been living at 401 Elm St. in Madison with a woman and her two minor children, including a 9-year-old girl, since then.

Dorsey is being held on $142,000 bond at the Criminal Justice Center.
