Mickelson takes Buick back to back

Phil Mickelson overcame a severe case of food poisoning earlier in the week to hold off Frank Lickliter and Davis Love III in a playoff to take home his second consecutive Buick Invitational title. He was the first back-to-back winner at Torrey Pines in the last 25 years, that saw the three men tie at 19-under 269 on the final day to force the playoff. Mickelson backed into the championship with a double bogey on the third playoff hole, while Lickliter had a triple bogey. Love eliminated himself on the first playoff hole.
