Tip leads to arrest of man believed involved in ’09 murder

A 19-year-old man police believe was involved in the 2009 murder of Demetrius Riley is in jail following a citizen’s tip.

A Metro police cold case detective identified Quincy Terrell Sharpe as one of the suspects in the Oct. 8, 2009, shooting death of Riley on Richmond Hill Drive.

On Friday morning, police arrested Sharpe at an apartment on Highway 70 South. Sharpe was 17 when the murder occurred, so he will first appear in Juvenile Court.

Police expect more arrests in the ongoing investigation.
