Metro police arrested 27-year-old Jonathan Boyd on Tuesday for attempted criminal homicide after a shooting in Hermitage last Friday.
Boyd is charged with shooting 19-year-old Bradley Bowie after a drug buy turned ugly. According to police, Bowie and a friend, later idenitifed by detectives as 19-year-old Wesley Stokes, agreed to buy 2 ounces of marijuana from Boyd, then drove off without paying for it.
Boyd allegedly confronted Bowie in a Mapco gas station parking lot near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Dodson Chapel Road and began firing shots. Bowie was hit in the right abdomen area and the shooter drove away.
Police said Bowie identified Boyd in a photo lineup on Monday. Boyd is in Davidson County jail and his bond was set at $350,000. Stocks was charged this week with possession of marijuana for resale but was released after posting $2,500 bail.
