Update: I-24 expected to reopen at 3 p.m.

Update: TDOT says the roadway will be cleared by 3 p.m.

A crash on the Interstate 24 westbound ramp to Interstate 40 has brought traffic heading into parts of Nashville to a standstill.

The ramp to I-40, near mile marker 52 on I-24, has been partially blocked since the crash was reported at 9:30 a.m., according the Tennessee Department of Transportation Smartway traffic website. Westbound traffic is being diverted to alternate routes.

Officials expect the roadway to be cleared by 2 p.m.
