Belmont sweeps Wright State

The visiting Belmont Bruins took both games of their Saturday doubleheader against Wright State in Dayton, Ohio. The Bruins took a close 5-4 win in the first game before walloping Wright State 9-3 in the second game to close out the doubleheader. Sophomore Josh Brummett led the Bruins offense in the first game, hitting his third home run of the year. Freshman Dan Soukop and freshman Jason Warpool (Franklin Road Academy) cranked homers in the second game, Soukop netting his second homer of the year and Warpool his fourth.

Bison drop two in DH

In a scheduled doubleheader Saturday at Dugan Field, the Lipscomb Bison dropped both games to visiting Birmingham-Southern, 7-6 and 5-3. Birmingham-Southern was able to grab a 7-1 lead with the help of Duane Chapman, who limited the Bison to two hits through 5 2/3 innings. Scott Findley hit his second home run of the season for the Bison shortly thereafter, and Chapman was relieved after giving up three runs. The Bison could not get any closer as Michael Bailey grounded out to end the first game. The Panthers took quick advantage as well in the second game, jumping out to a 2-0 after one inning. Bisons
