Metro Police say a woman was electrocuted Friday morning as she tried to steal copper wire from the old Capitol Chevrolet building on Murfreesboro Road in south Nashville.

The 36-year-old woman was with a group of at least four other people who broke into the vacant building after 1 a.m. Friday. She apparently touched a live wire and was electrocuted.

Three accomplices, who were with the woman, fled in the victim's car. They told police what was going on after they were pulled over for having a headlight out.

Police returned with the suspects and found the woman's body inside the vacant building.

Officers arrested the three others accused of helping the woman steal the wire.

What I want to know is....Whom is it that buys all this stuff from folks like this???? Can't we crack down on the financial entities that provide the demand without checking the credentials of these guys?
