Life Line Screenings

To help avoid a stroke and detect early signs of osteoporosis, the Downtown YMCA is offering Life Line Screenings on Wednesday, June 13 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Four Life Line Screenings are offered, including:

A screening for blockage in the carotid arteries in the neck (75 percent of all strokes are linked to carotid artery blockage), a screening that checks the arteries in the legs for Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), which is linked to heart disease, a test for aneurysms in the aortic vessel in the abdomen and a screening for women for an early detection of osteoporosis

A fully insured and licensed board-certified physician will do the tests. These screenings are non-invasive and completely painless.

Screenings take about 10 minutes each at a cost of $35-$40 each.

Test results will be mailed to participants in 12-15 business days. Pre-registration is required, so call 1-800-407-4557 to make an appointment or for further information.
