Up for Debate: 287(g) to expire

Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:43pm

Do you agree with Sheriff Daron Hall's decision not to renew office's participation in the 287(g) program and instead shift to the Secure Communities program?

Who knows what reason Sherff Hall had behind his decision. Maybe the Tennessee Supreme Court upcoming ruling had something to do with.

By: dargent7 on 8/22/12 at 4:40

No idea what a 287(g) program is. I once had a 211 charge.
Where's Loner? Still being held on a no-bail warrant?

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 5:11

287 allows designated local officers, properly trained by ICE (U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement), to perform immigration law enforcement functions.

You know, like identifying and detaining illegals.

So, was the job too much or someone wanted them off the Feds teet?

By: dargent7 on 8/22/12 at 5:36

I've got a better topic:
The Huffington Post reports neither Obama or Romney will pull out of Afghanistan during the next 4-8 years. No matter which one is elected.
Stats: 4,454 dead US soldiers, including Iraq. 15,000+ wounded so bad they'll need medical treatment for the rest of their lives, and they're now 25.
Time: 11 years.
Cost: $445. billion, just for Afghanistan.
Question...what in the hell is wrong with these two guys?

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 6:12

We're learning what the Soviets learned years ago, Afghanistan is not a winnable proposition. Ironically, you could argue that aggression in that country began the swan song for both countries.

Is Afghanistan our Waterloo?

By: govskeptic on 8/22/12 at 6:33

The 287g has served this county very very well. It's going to be a shame
and more problems after it is gone. Not sure if we will ever know the
true reason the Sheriff is ending it. He says the program has slowed
down, not sure why that would be. The feds are never going to solve or
even attempt to do anything other than amnesty for the entire lot as well
as family members still south of the border and 100's of other places
around the globe. "It's our country too" is the new battle cry!

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 6:40

Don't cry, gov! It'll get better, or you can move to Canada! They're really white up there!

Regarding amnesty, since we're broke, lets spend billions deporting them! Makes perfect sense! lol

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 6:43

I've also got a better topic, dargent7. Check out: conservativepapers.com/news/2012/04/15/obamas-lawyer-admits-birth-certificate-is-a-forgery/#UDTNna,23wa/

By: parnell3rd on 8/22/12 at 6:55

How about these
"When I'm elected President I'll end both of those wars" Sen. Barack Husseine Obama. To his credit he did end the Iraq war on Pres. Bush's time line. Pres. Obama tried to extend our troops time in Iraq. Something the lamestream media did not report.
"The republican's want to put yall back into chains" Vice Pres. joe Biden to a black audience.
Hey Joe, it was your party that kept and continue to keep people in chains by the way of Entitlement Programs.

By: parnell3rd on 8/22/12 at 6:56

That's right gdianfante! keep them here to enjoy our misery!

By: dargent7 on 8/22/12 at 6:57

The most pathetic thing about Afghanistan is that after 11 years chasing the Taliban, the "soldier" recruits we train turn on us.
Just last week one ass-hole who was denied access to the gym killed 3 Marines.
Another denied a table at breakfast killed another 3 Marines.
Then, on graduation day, given his new Glock, another ass-hole turned on the presenters and killed them both.
And both Obama and Romney want to keep this up?
It will never change.

By: Ummm... on 8/22/12 at 6:59

Yogi, gov and parnell spewing their racist nonsense already? Someone must have put out the "Knuckle-Draggers Welcome" sign.

By: govskeptic on 8/22/12 at 6:59

gdi: Where did " you can move" come from. No plans on moving, but do
plan to point out existing problems and attitudes to idiots like yourself that
haven't a clue on this or so many other frequent subjects. Amnesty is the
perfect answer for those that think today is tomorrow's world.

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 7:00

To play devil's advocate, which is easier: saying you'll end a war and actually doing it?

What say you?

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 7:12

Name-calling, gov? tsk! tsk!

A guest worker program would be best, but deportation is impractical! And Romney's idiotic idea of "self deportation" is, for lack of a better term, stupid!

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 7:13

Gov, you know where it comes from, you just don't have the stones to admit it!

By: Rasputin72 on 8/22/12 at 7:15

In a democracy everyone gets a chance to vote and change the culture of the country. The culture has been changing since 1954. Very slowly at first and now building to a crescendo. The model that I see developing looks like Detroit,Memphis,East St.Louis and Newark just to highlight a few.

Because the dollar is so important to human existence in the United States there will be some who will retain a culture of education, dignity, and of course my favorite,"WHO ARE THESE HEATHENS?"

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 7:16

The easiest is to say it, gdiafante. The best is doing it. End it and get it over with. Then you don't have to lie about it again.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 7:24

Apparently you're an Obama lover, Urmmm. Except his name isn't Obama. His legal name is Barry Soetoro. If it isn't, when did he repatriate to the USA?

Really, has he ever been a U. S. citizen? We're apparently getting to the end of the road. Look out for actions on Sept 30.

If you aren't a fellow communist with Obama you're in for one hell of a shock when you learn the arguments as why he doesn't think he should prove his eligibility to get on the ticket in different states

By: slacker on 8/22/12 at 7:26

We have our own Dr. Irwin Corey... Rasp

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 7:31

One other thing, Ummm, quite throwing that racist crap at us. You, and your fellow posters are the racists in this site.

Why? Because the only reason you voted for Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama was because of his race in voting for the first black President of the USA when you didn't know then, and still don't know now who the man is.

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 7:32

Who the hell are you to tell me why I voted for someone, old man? You should stick to things you know, like outlandish conspiracy theories and the abuse of farm animals.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 7:34

Sorry, I meant quit instead of quite.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 7:38

Where did I accuse you of your vote, gdiafante? Did you feel my comment personally that I accused you to be guilty? Then you probably voted.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/22/12 at 7:43

YOGI.........It would be best for you to realize that the people you debate with are voting with their lack of talents and lack of money. They vote for "free stuff"

No matter what rhetoric they use the real motivator is and always will be "free stuff"

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 7:54

Because the only reason you voted for Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama was because of his race in voting for the first black President of the USA when you didn't know then, and still don't know now who the man is.

Do you not even understand the stupidity you write?

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 8:10

Did I mention your name, gdiafante? Why do you feel accused?

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 8:12

You, and your fellow posters are the racists in this site.

That preceded your statement about Obama.

Do you really have to have your own words explained to you? Understand what you post before you submit, you twit.

By: jvh2b on 8/22/12 at 8:26

yogi calling someone a twit...thats rich coming from the old fool who posts a weblink that makes it's entire case on circular logic and completley going bat $h** on a motion...for chirsts sake yogi your reading comrehension is so poor/biased you choose not to see that the people that wrote that article are MAKING STUFF UP based on the same physoctic tangets you run off on.

So yeah..THATS why your a racist. You are so blinded by your hate that you make things fit in the narrow hole yhou want them to, regardless of if there is zero truth to it. It's a mental disability...just watch Hoarders...they have the same persection complex and lack of ability to understand anything...they twist it to be the way they beleive it to be...regalrdless of facts.

One of these days I'm gonna quit trying to teach that miseapble pig to sing. Waste of my time...

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 8:30

I agree to a point, Rasputin72,

Going back a few years in history, wasn't it the Democrats that started the "giveaway" programs thinking the "receivers" would vote for the "givers" which makes me wonder about those posting on this site. Aren't they working? Or are they part of the 47% that isn't paying any taxes? If so, why aren't they out looking for a job?

Being fair, though, many Republicans joined the Democrats to gain a few votes in the giveaway programs, gaining the name RINO. I've never heard of a DINO. Does that mean the Democrats are the domineering givers?

You sure couldn't spend the day on the chit chat sites on the internet on your job when I was working. And some of these arguers are spending quite a bit of time on this site.

How much work are these posters getting done?

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 8:36

Sorry, gdiafante, but "your fellow posters" does not say ALL of your fellow posters. Why do you feel offended not being identified?

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 8:44

Backpeddle all you want yogi, but if you can't stand by your own comments you should shut the hell up.

By: bfra on 8/22/12 at 8:52

It would be nice to have 1 day of discussion without the yogi twit, ignorant twit at that, inserting his repeats from the garbage sites he combs 24/7.

By: gdiafante on 8/22/12 at 8:57

He doesn't even understand what he is posting, bfra, or runs off with the mouth and then makes excuses when called out. Pathetic.

Ignoring the old troll...

By: bfra on 8/22/12 at 9:04

gdianante - He doesn't have enough sense to know when he is being ignored & laughed at.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 9:04

First, jvh2b, whom did I call a twit? Second, you call me an old fool because I'm "getting" information from a weblink that's full of s....

So may I ask; where are you getting all of your valuable information? Why is your information so much more accurate than mine" Because you believe it? Are you calling Barack Obama a liar on his remarks I've read in his autobiography? Okay, I know he's a liar, One helluva liar! But you obviously believe him.

Your biggest gripe is my posting my opinion about the man going by the name Barack Hussein Obama being a usurper in office. I have offered many facts on the issue but you and many of your fellow posters won't accept that. And the only reason you have given is claiming me to be a racist. You don't know me. If you did, you would know how idiotic that claim is.

He has refused to identify himself from the beginning. Ever wonder shy, or don't you care. Are you sharing Mike's comment about him being your president even though he is in the office illegally? To hell with the Constitution?

You all had better wake up, jvh2b. Don't be surprised if Barry pulls a martial law act to stay in office. And if congress let's him pull it off you can forget about voting any more.

Call me any kind of fool you wish. There's more One World Government implications going on than you know. You better wake the hell up.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 9:18

Counting today, you now have 76 days left to, hopefully, understand Obama's goal. Don't feel surprised when he proves you to be the fools you're showing yourselves to be.

By: dargent7 on 8/22/12 at 9:20

This is the vernacular The Birthers use: "Who is this man?..." "We don't know who he is..."."Why won't he tell us where he's from?"
Then you explain to these mensas that NO other President was ever questioned about this shit.
These dimwits don't grasp or understand that a US Senator can decide to run for President. Whenever.
Obama rose quickly. Very quickly. In about 4 years vs. the "lifers" like Biden, Mitch McConnell, Orin Hatch, that are so out of touch with reality, that America finds itself.
Obama was a grass roots guy, young, fresh, not contaminated by languishing in Congress for 30 years. Bought and paid for by lobbyists and special interests.
And people find fault with that?

Rasp and the rest of his ilk are the vestigial tail of the original Tories; those who remained loyal to the British Crown and upheld the right of the Kings over parliament. But instead of being loyal to the British Crown, these new Tories are loyal to money and the power it wields.

A little of this.......

....might go a long way in solving the problem.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 10:13

dargent7,

You had better do a little more reading of the laws. Not all US Senators can run for the President's office. Why? Because by the requirements of our Constitution, which is the base of the laws of our nation, you must be a natural born citizen to become President. You only have to be a naturalized or native born citizen to become a Senator or the Governor of a state.

By: BenDover on 8/22/12 at 10:21

How a dude is still in the running... who blew all the TARP repayments and then tripled Bush's already ridiculous deficits to the tune of over $5,000,000,000,000 in added debt in three and a half short years... it's just astounding to me.

The way they let his words defend him when his actions are irrefutably damaging... it's just... wow.

The only thing separating this guy from Carter is the malaise speech. Without an adoring media and our grandchildren's credit line propping him up it would be pitch-forks and torches time in Washington right now.

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 10:24

brrrrk,

You should read a little history. It was the Republicans that freed the slaves. It was the Democrats that started the Civil War to keep them in slavery. It was the Republicans that got the XIIIth, XIVth and XVth amendments passed to free the slaves, give them citizenship and the right to vote.

By: bfra on 8/22/12 at 10:25

AND Ben pops in with his TARP bru-ha-ha!
He & yogi are Pete & Repeat!

By: yogiman on 8/22/12 at 10:27

BenDover,

Did you see the latest Newsweek with the cover saying Obama needs to go? After they have been such Obama fans since day 1?

It makes you wonder, can't he fool them any longer?

Correction, it was the Southern Democrats (as well as the Southern Republicans) that stood in the way of Civil Rights....

For example, here's the breakdown of the votes on the Civil Rights Act of 1964

Totals are in "Yea–Nay" format:

The original House version:
Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7–93%)
Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0–100%)
Northern Democrats: 145–9 (94–6%)
Northern Republicans: 138–24 (85–15%)

The Senate version:
Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%)
Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%)
Northern Democrats: 45–1 (98–2%)
Northern Republicans: 27–5 (84–16%)

Anything stand out yogi?

Maybe God is punishing the GOP.

By: BenDover on 8/22/12 at 10:33

it's irrefutable that he respent all the TARP repayments and increased the debt by over $5 trillion bfra.
