There's been another tragic school shooting, this time in Oakland, Calif. Is there anything that can be done to help prevent or minimize the chances of such events? Is this just a reality for America, and Americans living and working in areas where many people congregate daily? Will it only get worse as those driven to commit such acts are pushed to inflict as much harm as they can, more than they've seem others do?
This could have been most likely held to just one dead if the female
administrator he came there for had not been gone at that moment!
Indications are he had been dismissed for behavior problems versus
academic although it could have been both! Language was a problem
for him as well as apparent large dose of anger and mental illness.
Apparently we have a large amount of both across the nation and growing!
You're right, bfra, this logical nut is insulting you obvious nuts on your ignorance. Common sense could tell you to read the Constitution. That is, if you can read.
nimrod,
Tell me, did your mother have an electric stove in your childhood? How many telephones was in your neighborhood? Did you have electric lights? How may cars were on the roads per family back then? How did you heat your home?

First Revision:
Oh, they're banning saggy pants, in Old Tennessee.
They done banned Charles Darwin, too.
They're strip-searchin' everybody...for anything...thanks to the USSC
They're searchin' me; they're stripping you.
They're searchin' you; they're stripping me.
But they're banning saggy pants...those naughty baggy pants....in Old Tennessee.
The far right wing-nut says with Obama we will become a Communist State ruled by Muslims. However it is the GOP that springs into action, with Cheney/Bush pointing the way.
What does electricity have to do with the Constitutional requirement for President?
See, this is why we think you're nuts.

Now yogi the nut is showing his anti-commie strength by prying into the lives of others. Before I tell first which animal did you sleep with last night?
Would you mother approve?

Sorry guys I don't have time today to go back and catch up. If anyone has a position other than what their normal stereotype would indicate would someone repost a summary for me?
In summary, Ben, yogi is trying to figure out the Founders' intent of natural born citizen by theorizing how they would have reacted to electricity.
I know...I know...
As to the important issue of the day... saggy pants... Loner's key-note criticism of the Right-wing Republican legislature of Tennessee... it should be noted that the sponsor of the no-sag bill was Joe Towns. Joe is an African-American liberal democrat from the People's Republic of Memphis and is in no way affiliated politically with the Republican majority.
That is all.
If you had a little bit of common sense, gdiafante (I'm sorry you don't have any), you would see the different ways of the people's thinking when this nation was founded.
They didn't think like you "young nuts" think today, as if the knowledge of the people of this nation hasn't changed in over two centuries.
They didn't have a modern life as you do today. And they didn't think like you back in the 18th century.
yogi you don’t think like normal sane people of any time zone of any century.
Yogi, if you're attempting to gather information regarding their frame of mind and then apply it to modern technology, you're off base. I suggest attempting to understand their frame of mind regarding citizenship (which has nothing to do with modern technology) and how it applied to social norms at the time, then transfer that to a modern society.
Example: What would the Founders' opinion be of bi-racial heritages...or single-parent families in regards to the native born versus natural born.
In my opinion, that has more relevance than if James Madison would have been frightened by "The Clapper".
My yogi filter is in full operation but I still couldn't wade through all the comments today.
As for the school shootings... tragic. I'm not big on pro-active laws that punish the potential to do harm instead of the people who actually do harm though. That's a huge infringement on our liberty and results in a MASSIVELY oversized and overpowered justice system for us to try to navigate, negotiate, and pay homage to. I say live and let live and when some sonofabitch steps out of line like this Korean nurse did, take his crazy @$$ out so he can't do any more harm or reproduce; and as an example to other would-be crazy son's of bitches who might thing of doing the same.
Blaming the gun here will be the media template though so I guess the battle for our basic civil liberties will continue.
ben I thought the important event of the day was the school shooting in Oakland. Oh wait that has to do with guns and we know where you stands on that.
Funny post so far.

My yogi filter is in full operation but I still couldn't "wade" through all the comments today.
On the contrary Ben, I think the issue is school bullying and how to keep nuts from going off and shooting with guns.
Wow... even the original post is loaded... it reads like a tearful, "CAN'T WE DO SOMETHING?!?" while obviously any act to "DO SOMETHING!" is just going to further subjugate us state authority. The world really started to go to hell when we passed the 19th amendment. Where the heck are the logical men in our society that understand sometimes tragedies happen but it's better to suffer a tragedy from time to time rather than sacrifice more and more of our liberty every single day.
How exactly is attempting to make sure mentally unstable people can't have easy access to a gun sacrificing liberty?
Ben, I don’t think you can just sweep this under the rug, by just calling it a tragedy and not look at the possibility of what lead up to it in the first place. I know you feel threaten that someone is out to get your gun. But what size gun does it take for you to see that guns are only one part of the equation. Look at the entire picture and just don’t brush it off as Liberal Bias.
You have more brains and more intelligent than a yogi.
The sad part of your 9:11 post, gdiafante, you don't know. It sure would be great if you did.
That sound you here is my 9:11 post going over yogi's head...lol
s/h/b hear
If the gun-banners make a play over these incidents and the administration bites (publicly) it will be political suicide.
I think they're too smart for it but their arrogance could trump that.
So, Honolulu General Hospital, called Kapiolani Health at the time, or Liliokalani Health didn't exist in 1961? You idiot. I visited all three.
Romney was born in Detroit General.
Before called Mount Carmel, since called something else when the '67 riots burned it down. I was born in Mount carmel. As luck would have it, before it burned down.
My dad was born in Montreal, as was his dad. Since I was born on American soil, I would be eligible for the office of President. That's all that matters..."Born on American soil".
Newt Gingrich was the son of a mother, twice married, called "McPherson".
Why'd Newton change his name to Gingrich, his step dad's name? Trying to hide the fact he was the son of a twice married hooker?
Chasing family trees and ancestry is fool's gold but serves the purpose validating being a RACIST.
They're doing a full on populist divide and conquer scorched earth campaign anyway though so they might go after this issue to shore up the women.
He should ask Al Gore about all of that though because it was the NRA who beat Big Al, not Bush.
Big Al got more votes than Bushy.
It was only until recently that I discovered by my voting for a rock in 2004 was a misstake(sic). I discovered that the rock came from Mars and now lives in Gordonsville, Tennessee.
It is a known fact that Martian don’t think like humans. Farther understanding shows that Martian doesn’t think they just lay on the ground and do yogis.
Electoral college Ummm..
Too bad they weren't in a contest to win the most popular votes.
Ben, the "war on guns" is in your mind. Sure, there will always be a faction of people who think the 2nd amendment should be abolished, but like Birthers, they're a very vocal minority.
But the NRA and Conservative groups will continue to manufacture paranoia because (1) you buy it and (2) gun sales are through the roof because of it.
Oh geeeezzzz... here we go. The only tangent worse than the 'Bush STOLE the election!' thing is the 'gay marriage' thing.
Who knew that electoral collage would cause the US of A to become yigified(sic).
I predict that slacker will return to this board.
Both sides are polling for what the independent voter wants, as the independents will decide the election.
The size of a man’s gun is a sign of his deficiency at something. ;-)
Captain Nemo
Nemo, I'm back & well rested & buff.
Boy oh boy am I good are what! lol
Ben, I know a Democrat introduced the bill, but it was a unanimous yay vote.
If a Repub. had introduced it, the other daily would have been mocking it today.
Seems like someone should have stood up and questioned the necessity of the state's involvement in this matter.
Spot on slacker. The independents are the backbone of America.
I got to good now, but I predict that I will return.
The universe size gun you hear going off, belongs to yogi.
Are there really any Independents left? It seems everyone says their an Independent but then argue down political lines.
s/h/b they're...jeez...
Being Liberal
You didn't get mad when we spent over 800 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.
You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.
You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars in cash just disappeared in Iraq.
...
You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country.
You didn't get mad when they didn't catch Bin Laden.
You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.
You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.
You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the 1%, over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.
You didn't get mad with the worst 8 years of job creations in several decades.
You didn't get mad when over 200,000 US Citizens lost their lives because they had no health insurance.
You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values in the Wall Street crash.
You finally got mad when a black man was elected President, and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick. Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, job losses by the millions, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, and the worst economic disaster since 1929 are all okay with you, but helping fellow Americans who are sick... Oh, Hell No!
You're not going to take ME back, without a fight.
Guy walks into a bar.. orders a BREVITY
They never seem to shoot the ones they are so mad at for one reason
or another. In this case a female administrator that wasn't on the
premises! So, instead he takes his anger out of 7 adults between the
ages of 21 and 43. It's a crazy angry world and getting worse!
Bartender says, "Do you want that on the rocks or straight? With water? We have bottled and tap water, but I wouldn't use the tap water, sometimes it smells like mold, but it's clear, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I put a filtration unit on the fawcett but the smell is still there...it gets hot fast too...I've burned myself a few times, but I can't figure out how to adjust the water heater...do you know how? Did you say a Gin and Tonic or a Miller Lite? I have short term memory loss from when I hit my head on the counter putting in that filtration unit...I'll get your Jack and Coke in a second...you don't mind Pepsi instead, do you? I don't use Coke since that Liberal "I'd like to teach the world to sing" crap...
Are you all that confused between hear and here, gdiafante?
lol gdiafante
There was only two hospitals in Hawaii when he was born, dargent7, not three. It was several years after his birth date that they combined into a new name. The one he gave as his birthplace.
'Speak' of yourself as being a racist, dargent7. After all, the only logical reason you could have voted for Obama was his race because you didn't know anything else about him.
