Monday, July 30, 2012 at 3:42am

How do you feel about criticism directed at Gov. Bill Haslam stemming from his hiring of Samar Ali as the international director for the state’s Department of Economic and Community Development?

Obviously Haslam is part of the communist, nazi jihadist plot to establish shariah law in Tennessee. In fact, he must be in cahoots with that communist, nazi president of ours, and wants a radical islamic dictatorship for the entire U.S.A. Where is a true American like Michelle Bachmann when you need one?

How many Teapublican regressives are with me?

By: dargent7 on 7/30/12 at 5:01

I thought they were going after Clinton's aide? Haslam's too?
This discrimination of Muslims reminds me of the acceptance (non-) of Blacks in the 50's and 60's.

d7, I wasn't alive then (and neither were you, I'm pretty sure) but our wonderfully paranoid government actually imprisoned asian-americans during WWII based solely on racial profiling. All those with the ability to reflect on that in a reasonable way consider it one of the most shameful acts ever undertaken by our nation. How quickly we forget...

Thurston Howell III and Lovey made a "spiritual pilgrimage" to Israel over the weekend
Lovey was beside herself over all the "molecules and rocks" in Jerulsalem.
Brought to tears, all the while Mittens was licking Netynyhou's boots pandering for the electoral vote in Florida. Held a breakfast fundraiser. Opening bell was $25,000 to sit with Uncle Mitty for an hour.
Lieberman couldn't pull FL off being a Jew himself. Maybe a Bishop in the Mormon church can.
Watch out Obama.

McCarthyism is alive and well in Tennessee (and in Congress, right Bachmann?). Isn't it nice to know that we haven't learned a damn thing in over 50 years?

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 5:34

Ummm,

The government put the Japanese in camps because they were Japanese. That happened after the Japanese forces pulled the Pearl Harbor bombing off.

It was feared the Japanese people in the US would begin a raid on the USA, even though many of those people were born and raised in the USA and there was no evidence any of them would attack.

This is the USA and we have our own USA Constitution and our own laws. To allow foreign Sharia laws into our nation and in our court rooms is the same as giving our nation to the the Muslim faith, which is Islam.

If you're in the USA you go by the laws of our land, not the laws you brought with you. If those people want to use Sharia laws, they should go back to their home nation.

I think Yogi's name is really "Tommy." (Obviously he's deaf, dumb and blind.)

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 5:41

Japanese-Americans were put in camps, yogi. And the Supreme Court ruled in 1944 that loyal citizens to the U.S., regardless of cultural descent, could not be detained without cause.

Perhaps you disagree with this ruling?

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 5:41

Yeah, but he sucks at pinball...

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:14

If she does the job well, then Haslam has done his job. However the Tea Bags will never understand because they are dancing on a string from many puppet masters.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:14

Japanese-Americans were imprisoned during WWII, but the German-Americans were not. Seems a little off balanced to me. I wonder why explanation will be giving by our resident nut

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:16

LOL Ummm, gdia.

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 6:18

I was alive when those people were put in those camps, gdiafarte. Where were you guys? The people of this nation were appalled when that happened.

A if you could remember the war was coming to an end when the judge made that decision.

But I'm sorry, I only lived through it so I obviously didn't know what was going on.

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 6:21

Oh, and by the way, gdiafarte. some of those Japanese citizens had not become American citizens when that happened.

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 6:22

Well, going by your experience, if the people were so appalled, why did it take until the end of the war to rectify the situation?

And, from what I understand, there was only one politician that stood up and said it was wrong, a governor, and he was voted out of office for his convictions.

It took until the 1980's before the government really acknowledged what went on. Doesn't sound like people were too appalled to me...

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 6:24

Because we were not in war with Germany at that time, dumba$$ and when we went into war with Germany they never attacked the USA.

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 6:30

Because the people of the 40s weren't much different in letting the government run their country than the people are today, except they knew the President was in the office legally and you don't today.

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 6:38

Actually, I do. So does the majority. It's the ones that have escaped the asylum that don't believe.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:40

Once again our idiot historian has got it all wrong. It was Germany that started WWII. Now get you facts right before making a bigger fool of yourself!

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:44

It is just as vulgar to spelling Dumba$$ as it is to spell it Dumb-ass, yogi.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 6:46

The real danger to the country comes in the form of Anti-American Confederates. This festering pus of America has been lying just under the surface of main-stream Americans and spreading silently waiting to tare American a part. The South will Rise again and Freedom will die.

By: Kosh III on 7/30/12 at 6:55

yogi can't read a calendar

"Because we were not in war with Germany at that time, dumba$$"

We declared war on Japan Dec 8 1941
We declared war on Germany Dec 11 1941
Internment of American citizens of Japanese descent was
authorized in Feb 1942.

Good Morning Nemo - When has yogi ever been right?

By: Rocket99 on 7/30/12 at 6:57

Ant-American Confederates = Teabaggers. Sounds like yogi may secretly be a member.

By: Kosh III on 7/30/12 at 6:57

As to the nonsense about this native Tennessean: it's just that: nonsense.

By: Rasputin72 on 7/30/12 at 6:58

If Governor Haslam felt that this was the right man for the job then that is good enough for me.

I look at the Muslims and the African/Americans as being different from the Dutch and the Finnish and the Argentines.

By: Rocket99 on 7/30/12 at 6:59

Maybe they didn't throw the German Americans in prison because they couldn't just look at them and tell the were foreigners.

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 7:05

Where did you get the information Barack Obama is in office legally, gdiafarte? No one else seems to be able to. It's hard to accept false papers as identity papers.

It's funny, Barry keeps insisting Romney show his tax papers 11 years ago but it's still okay for him to refuse to show any of his papers.

Doesn't it make you wonder if he has any legal papers?

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 7:06

bfra, if yogi is ever right about any subject, it is because he did not understand the question. yogi is one of the reasons America is in decline, the other two reasons or the likes of bud and Rasputin.

By: Kosh III on 7/30/12 at 7:09

When will these theocratic nannies in the GOP attack Grover Norquist? He is married to a Palestinian MUSLIM woman.

By: Ummm... on 7/30/12 at 7:11

Rasputin is operating on such a wealth of knowledge, he thinks Haslam's appointee is a man.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 7:14

Defend you lies yogi about Germany not being in WWII.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 7:16

Ummm, Rasputin and yogi come from the same genetic screw-ups.

bfra leave Yogi alone. You seem to get on this post and belittle him or someone all the time. Is that because your significant other is abusing you and you have to get even with someone? Get some help with that. Leave Yogi out of it.

Translation; this is my man and you can’t have him.

By: budlight on 7/27/12 at 8:57
I have a job bfra; it's monitoring you.

Translation; I’m so lonely.

By: Rocket99 on 7/30/12 at 7:24

yogi,

Hawaii has produced both the long and short form of his birth certificate. So, there's your proof.

Yogi, where's your proof he isn't in office legally?

By: Rasputin72 on 7/30/12 at 7:26

UMMMM......If Governor Haslam thinks a woman is a man and man is a woman, while that is inconsistent with the thoughts of others that logic carries more weight with me than any assesment you make about what is important and what is not important.

The important thing is that I have confidence in Governor Haslam. Now if he appointed you in a key role and said Ummm is my man I would have to say to someone, "The
Governor is being blackmailed"

The real wealth of knowledge for you should be how much I contribute to your welfare?

Remember this, Ummm, When Abraham Lincoln declared that all men are created equal , Archibal Beauregard upon learning of this said to his Church of Christ minister, " I find this statement to be the most blatant disregard for human observation that has ever been uttered by a public figure."

The minister said to Archibal, "Mr. Beauregard, if you think that statement is ridiculous you should see what is ahead for your great great grandchildren."

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 7:29

Don't, Rocket. God himself could proclaim Obama's legality in office and yogi would dispute it because the internet says so. It's really not worth the effort.

By: bfra on 7/30/12 at 7:31

Nemo - Anyone can tell what goes on in bud's life by the comments she puts on the board. She must be speaking from experience.

By: gdiafante on 7/30/12 at 7:31

Yes, Governor Haslam...the we don't want Washingon's money governor that is...wait for it...attempting to get Washington money.

By: parnell3rd on 7/30/12 at 7:40

Thanks to Supreme Court Justice Scalia's comment's over the weekend we'll be busy open to close all week long and then some!

By: dargent7 on 7/30/12 at 7:45

Actually, "Tommy", "sure plays a mean pin-ball".

By: Captain Nemo on 7/30/12 at 7:59

I think yogi is more into liar’s poker.

Nemo, posted 3 times? Shakes? Withdrawal from last nights booze bash? You gotta stop that stuff.

Moonglow1:

What the Tea Nuts should really be afraid of is backing their candidate, Mitt Romney, a bishop in the Mormon Church.

Why would we elect a Mormon Bishop to the highest office of the land. Mormonism, a cult religion. Read all about how mormons want to take over the world. Would we elect a Catholc priest to the Presidency. What's with the bishop thing. He should practice his religion, and not "practice" politics at our expense.

All this idiocy about Sharia Law is being drummed up by the shadow donors like Sheldon Adelson and The Koch's that run the Tea Nuts. These billionaires say "jump" and the Tea Nuts say "how high" -my masters. We will do anything for you.

The Tea Nuts are going after "Muslims" because they want the public afraid of Obama who is not Muslim but they want the public scared. Bauchmann went after Abedin, a loyal aide for Hillary Clinton. The smear against Ali is being planned on a national scale by these billionaires.

What a scam against the American people and our government institutions.

Wake up!! Notice how Sheldon Adelson, an extreme right wing Israeli is "running the Mormon (Romney). Because Adelson wants war with Syria, so goes Romney. It's so easy to tie it all together; so blatant, but the American people have been blinded. It's all about fear and right now the focus is on Sharia when the real threat are the billionaires like Adelson.

It is obvious that Yogi is a paid "blogger" hired by the Tea Nuts to obfuscate the issues. He drums up the same line over and over and over ad nauseum about Obama. Give it a rest. Hey Tea Nuts we are on to you about Yogi.

He should be banned from posting. He is disengenuous at best and a paid blogger at the worst.

What a scam. The Yogi scam, paid for your courtesy of the Koch's and the rest of the billionare rouges. Get a grip. Off with you Yogi.

By: yogiman on 7/30/12 at 8:26

Hawaii has not issued a copy of his legal birth certificate, Rocket99. When the present governor went into off, he made the statement as an old family friend he would provide the birth certificate and clear the argument. But lo and behold, he couldn't find it.

Points: The hospital he claimed to be born in didn't exist when he was born. It had a different name at that time and his sister claimed he was born in the other hospital in Hawaii at that time, so which one was right?

He is not a natural born citizen. If Barack Obama was his father as claimed, he was born as a British subject, not an American citizen. He would be a dual citizen if he was born in Hawaii. If he was born in Hawaii as claimed. But if he was born in Kenya, his mother could not pass her American citizenship down to him at her age.

When his Indonesian step-father adopted him, he had to give up his American citizenship (if he actually had any). And if he was a natural born citizen, the only way he would get his citizenship back would be through naturalization because you can't just take your natural born status back automatically.. If he did, when did he repatriate?

Now, let's look at it this way, if his father was Frank Marshal Davis, he would have been born a natural born citizen. But again, when he became an Indonesian citizen, he lost that status.

Now, why was he advertised for 17 years as being born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii if he was born in Hawaii?

Why did his wife make the comment about taking shots so they could go to Africa to visit his homeland of Kenya?

Why did he go to Kenya as an American senator and help a man in a political race?

You want to know more? I've got it. If Barack Obama is his legal name, when did he change it back from Barry Soetoro?

Why is he using a SSN that was issued to a man in Connecticut in 1870? Why will e-verify not accept that number in his name? Why is his registration number a fake?

Red alert!! Yogi is a paid blogger for the Tea's. Red alert. Yogi is a paid blogger for the Tea's.

You are not a true American. You need to be investigated for you anti-American sentiment against our President.

So are you voting for the Mormon Bishop. I have nothing against the Mormons. I do not believe any clergy should be elected to the highest office in the land.

Any clergy!!! None, zippo.
