What do you think about the emails and discussions of state officials regarding the tiff between the state and Metro education boards over the approval of Great Hearts Academies' charter proposal?

Wendy Kopp is the founder and CEO of Teach for America, TFA, is the parent Organization for Great Hearts and others.

Huffman is a former Teach for America executive whom Haslam hired as his education commissioner in 2011. The conflict of interest is plain to see, IMO.

A backgrounder on Kopp and Huffman is a nice addition to the discussion, right? Or do you prefer to remain in the dark?

Loner & Nemo - Ignore is great suggestion! I will comply gladly.

How many Americans are asking for a 30% pay raise at this time? Who would have the chutzpah to ask for 25% or even 19%? This Lewis woman, the Chicago teacher union's head honcho, is a show-boater...a grand-stander....apparently loves the limelight....and the big free meals.

A long, drawn-out teacher's strike in Chicago could adversely effect Obama's re-election bid.....this particular union is giving collective bargaining a bad name.....voters will be turned off....they could vote GOP...the union-busting party.

This upcoming election will be the nastiest, ever. Romney's got $187 million so far to blow on tv ads. Obama has $150. million. Just think if these A-holes gave all that to charity?
I'll actually watch the debates.
Obama is a superb orator, no one's better, no one's smarter.
And Romney's got the Balls 'n Brains to keep up with him.
It will be better than Super Bowl 45, or whichever one we're on.
Biden v. Ryan in the debates...who gives a shit?

If you're not a fellow Muslim with Barry you might want to take a look at this.

More on the Chicago strike:

"The strike was called after all-day talks on Sunday broke down. Officials said they had offered a 16% pay rise.

"We must do things differently in this city if we are to provide our students with the education they so rightfully deserve”, said Karen Lewis Chicago Teachers Union.

That proposed pay deal would be structured over four years and included a host of other benefits, the Chicago Tribune reported." (End Snippet).

There it is, the teachers said, "NO", to a 16% pay raise and other bennies....the general public is not going to be sympathetic to Ms. Lewis and her gang of overfed teachers and their staff.

Yeah, D7, the debates between Willard and BHO will be good....but the Wieners vs Biden debates will probably be more entertaining....both are gaff-prone, according to reliable sources....which one will shoot himself in the foot?

The source on my 10:08 snippet:

Looks like Ben and the righties are boycotting the NCP? Did we drive them all away?

It's 11:30 here....nice day....gotta take the thumper out for a ride.....see ya!

By: yogiman on 9/10/12 at 9:46

Hurry back. We're lost without you.

By: Loner on 9/10/12 at 9:46

But...before I ride...Govseptic should go to this website:

According to the US Census Bureau, TN received $10,210,000,000 in state and local grants in 2009 alone. Since TN has no income tax revenues, the rest of the nation has to chip in....to give the kids in TN a decent chance....apparently the folks in TN want us other Americans to dig a little deeper.....give a little more.

All this neo-seccession talk is quite ludicrous....without federal lifelines, most of the former confederate states would be sinking in a sea of red ink.....TN is a recipient state in the federal collective, not a donor state.....check it out, Gov.

Who cares if the wingnuts boycott...I get tired of hearing well rehearsed GOP talking points all the time...and if I want a nutjob conspiracy, I go to yogi.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/10/12 at 9:58

Alright then we got three.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/10/12 at 10:01

gdia, bfra, Loner and I not reading any of the yogi nut anymore. I hope you join in.

By: yogiman on 9/10/12 at 10:14

Amazing. I didn't think Obama had so many fellow communists on this site.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/10/12 at 11:17

Happy Monday!

By: gdiafante on 9/10/12 at 11:24

Amazing. I didn't think Obama had so many fellow communists on this site.

I say, I say, I have a list in my hand of...5...no, 15 known Communists that have infiltrated the NCP...

How many?

No seriously...

There are 157 Communists that post on the NCP...

By: bfra on 9/10/12 at 11:51

gdiafante - My list on contains about 4, with 1 of them being iffy & 1 being a crazy screwball.

By: bfra on 9/10/12 at 11:52

should be "only contains"

By: govskeptic on 9/10/12 at 12:06

I wish to challenge your statement that "Great Hearts" is in any way
connected with Teach for American. Yes, I know our State Director
comes from TFA, and Great Hearts may or may not hire TFA instructors,
but the incest between TFA and Great Hearts you suggest is not correct.

Blanket, gdia; Loner bfra and I are doing the BenDover an ignoring the drool. I hope you will do like wise.

By: yogiman on 9/10/12 at 5:44

Sorry dargent7, but I failed to ask for your okay to leave for a while. But in case you don't know, we still have usurper in office.
