Up for Debate: Boy Scouts affirm ban on gays

How do you feel about the Boy Scouts of America's affirmation on its ban against openly gay members? Is it a right, just and prudent decision, or should gays be allowed to join the organization?

yogi, good rule of thumb is to use "were" for plural and "was" for singular. As in....there WAS a gay person vs. there WERE gay people. If it's plural, use WERE.

There WERE homosexuals would be the correct usage.

Gay leaders could easily start and support, their own scout groups.
Create their own scout rules & regulations. IMO that would be a prudent soulution.

I'll bring the same questions up again, y'all: How can you "intelligent" people accept "Barack Obama" as someone to be the president of this nation when you don't even know who he is? You don't even know his legitimate name. You don't know if he went to the schools he claims to have attended and you don't know if he has ever been an American citizen.
So my question: If he was a natural born American citizen, how did he re-become a natural born citizen after he became an Indonesian citizen?
The only reason any of you have given for voting for him is because of his race (which, of course, isn't racism to you. But I'm a racist because I simply want to know who in the hell he is.

"If he was a natural born American citizen...." Looks like you got tripped up again. The proper usage would be "If he WERE a natural born..."

Um...I've explained it many times...he was elected because (supposedly) he wasn't going to be Bush's third term. His election had nothing to do with race, but I suspect that a lot of the birther nonsense does.
So, as it turns out, it was effectively Bush's third term.

It's a shame that people who will be speaking English as a second language will know proper grammar usage better than someone who was raised speaking English. So, if you happen to be one of those "English only" supporters, you better study grammar.
My guess is that he was taught proper grammar, but he's 80...and from a rural part of the state...the vernacular of location takes precedent.
