What do you think about the process behind deciding when to prosecute in cases of suspected child abuse?

Suspected is not known knowledge. What is the logic to prosecute for suspicion only?

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 5:14

Being locked in a dark closet is a form of child abuse.

By: gdiafante on 11/13/12 at 7:14

The process seems sound (the four major things listed in the story). I can only imagine how hard it is for law enforcement or government agencies to see that abuse is happening but have little or no tangible evidence.

By: Loner on 11/13/12 at 7:18

Good morning, Nashville.

Sadly, Child Protective Services are often used to harass formers spouses and former lovers. What better way to get back at a hated ex than to call the law down on them? Anyone who has ever gone through a custody battle knows that "Family Court" is the court of character assassination and revenge....and Child Protective Services is often used as a proxy in many bitter and ugly custody battles.

By: yogiman on 11/13/12 at 7:32

It highly depends on what the phrase means in child abuse. Are they looking into correcting a child's behavior or a sexual abuse? How much authority should a government agency have in a parent raising their child? Whipping their behind for misbehaving is not child abuse. It is an act of love in teaching your child they are misbehaving and shouldn't.

How many of you parents wants the government to tell you how to raise your child?

So, Mr. Burch wrote an entire article on how Mitt Romney was going to give FEMA to states and let them deal with disaster's.
Why isn't Mr. Burch writing an article on how the Federal Govt under Pres. Obama's FEMA has failed the east coast?
Thousands of people are not being helped but in DemoNcrat's perfect world all is well in kool aide land.
If you want big gov't, why is it not working? All of you libtards were all over Pres. Bush. Were is the consistancy in criticism? Oh, you don't want to be labeled a racist. Well, you are!

By: parnell3rd on 11/13/12 at 7:39

Oh and thanks to all of you libtards who re-elected Obama. I will have a great Christmas Bonus. Care to guess my industry?
I'm out of here, no time to argue with idiots today. GIVE 'EM HELL YOGI!!!!
And the few who have commen sence, good day!!

Sour grapes, party of one...

Pacifiers are on sale at Toys R Us...you need to be there, parnell. Chop chop

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 7:55

gdiafante - Saw one yesterday at Kirkland's that has a mustache on it. The CP trolls need 1 of those. They have tried everything else to seem "important", maybe that would help.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 8:14

Leave it to the trolls to immediately defend the abusers and rapists.

By: yogiman on 11/13/12 at 8:17

The only thing that will help, bfra, is to convince you racists who so strongly support the usurper in office to support our nation. That is, of course, unless you're all co-communist with Barry Soetoro.

I'll admit, it's hard for an old man like me to understand how anyone, like you all, would so willingly vote for someone as your president when you don't even know his legal name or even if he's an American citizen, let alone a natural born citizen. And I'll bet he's not an American citizen. I'll bet he's an Indonesian citizen.

Sorry to say it, but you're exposing your ignorance more every day.

I give LONER credit for the most visionary post concerning child abuse.

In the meantime, I would like to give notice to the "Simple Six" that a rumor is swirling that a victory party for Obama supporters will be held at the old round arena downtown.

George Soros purportedly will donate $10,000. A stipend of $500.00 will be given to each individual atending who has a net worth of more than $75,000 dollars. Any of the $10,000 dollars left over will be donated to the Democratic party.

By: yogiman on 11/13/12 at 8:29

If you have any children, B2, it will probably be better for them for the government to raise them for you. Maybe they'll learn how to learn the identity to decide who is legally in a race they're going to vote in.

By: gdiafante on 11/13/12 at 8:30

That's good news, Raspy. I've also heard that the Republicans are throwing a pity party at the same time on the corner of 4th and Broad for Romney supporters.

That's going to cause quite a traffic nightmare, with so many limos and such...There will be a Grey Poupon vender there, though...and some pie served.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:31

Only in troll land can the subject child abuse become a political whine.

By: dargent7 on 11/13/12 at 8:33

Sadly, probably 40% or higher of all pregnancies are "accidents".
The dummies don't even know they're pregnant until the 5th month when they deliver a premie.
Once released home, the single mom or dysfunctional parental unit is in no shape to raise a child.
Then you get abuse due to ignorance and anger issues.
Their life stinks and they take it out on the kid.
Never ending cycle.

By: Kosh III on 11/13/12 at 8:34

"and some pie served."

Two pies actually: crow and humble though both will probably go untouched.

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 8:36

gdiafante - I heard the admission to the pity party was a cheap bottle of gin. Raspy can cover that, but he does need to get the grey poupon stains off of his worn out ascot.

By: gdiafante on 11/13/12 at 8:36

Only in troll land can the subject child abuse become a political whine.

The troll can trace every subject matter back to his unhealthy obsession. It's a mental illness. The man should be in a home.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:37

Now what is missing is for the troll monkey to tell that she some Hispanic mother hitting her children for not stealing some beads.

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 8:38

LOL - gdiafante & Kosh III

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:39

shb saw some. you get the idea.

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 8:39

Nemo - Or that she was admiring some Hispanic Man's legs at the mall & Mama Mia started beating her over the head.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:41

lol bfra

"Sadly, probably 40% or higher of all pregnancies are "accidents".

We need effective education about sex and sexuality. Not just in the home, but in the school. No more burying our head in the sand and thinking that "abstinance" is the answer.
People should understand clearly what leads to pregnancy and how to avoid it.
I realize folks like sex(Heck yeah!!!!) but you can have lots of fun besides vaginal intercourse. Hand jobs, blow jobs, anal intercourse, intercrural intercourse: all fun and all effectively pregnancy proof.

Plus, many of the people most needing contraceptives are the people who do not have certain access to it; either because they are minors, or are ignorant(see above) or do not have the money. And eliminating funding such as to Planned Parenthood(which is more than just abortion services) is just plain STUPID.

It's all Bush's fault of course.

By: Rasputin72 on 11/13/12 at 8:45

Gdiafante......I was aware of that party. I did not like the location. I also did not like the date as I am returning to Palm Beach on December 1.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:48

Let have lunch Rasputin.

By: Loner on 11/13/12 at 8:48

The Bimbo scandal is widening, General Allen's fat is now sizzling on the grill...looks like America's top warriors are going down because of a cat-fight.

Latino whores penetrated the Secret Service...now American bimbos are doing what the Taliban could not do....the Islamists and other enemies of America should switch, from suicide bombers to sleazy bimbos....much more effective.

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 8:51

For posters "with a memory", I find raspy's last comment ironic! LMAO

By: yogiman on 11/13/12 at 8:54

Well, I'll have to admit, gdiafante, my parents apparently raised me and my siblings much differently than yours did you. They taught us to be Americans and to know who that man was in our President's office.

At what age did your parents tell you it doesn't matter who that man in the President's chair is or what country he's a citizen of?

Was you taught in the Marines to accept anyone as your CIC who refused to identify himself. Did you take an oath: It doesn't matter who your CIC is, just obey him?

You have enemies from within, young man and you have a congress full of them today.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:54

Does this surprise you, bfra?

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:57

Good parents don't raise there children locked in the closet, yogi. But you ans your siblings are special. LOL

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 8:59

Child abuse produce people like yogi and Rasputin.

NEMO......Did I offend you by asking if you were a Samoan? I just cannot get that out of my mind. There is something about you that reminds me of different genetics. In any case if you do not want to respond I will understand.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:10

Nemo, I understand why Roy lost his patience but locking a child in a closet isn't right. Even if he is an insufferable little jerk.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 9:13

No you did not Rasputin. I understand hoe your simple mind works, it gets confused on simple things.

As for your deduction of who you think I am...well I would be impressed if you tried to insult a real Samoan.

Now lets have lunch.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:13

Someone can't tell the difference between Palm Beach and Ft. Myers. Directionally challenged, among other things.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 9:16

Blanket it was to do that or kill the little jerk.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:17

I can imagine.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 9:19

It is just a matter of him wanting something he does not have Blanket. A city bus to him becomes an airplane.

By: Rasputin72 on 11/13/12 at 9:20

NEMO.......I then assume you are not a Samoan?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:20

Well, that's good since that's his best form of transportation.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 9:21

Lets have lunch and then you will find out,Raspy old boy.

By: bfra on 11/13/12 at 9:22

Blanket - I find it ironic that raspy can't remember whether he is in FL or TN! LOL

Nemo - Due to his regular contradictions of his own comments, it doesn't surprise me at all.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:22

I wonder how long it takes to get to Ft. Myers by bus?

By: Blanketnazi2 on 11/13/12 at 9:23

bfra, that is true!

By: Captain Nemo on 11/13/12 at 9:23

Jr. could never keep his lies straight.

Parnell, they can't hear you. And they can't read if it's a logical question.

Most people who have children are not as smart as their children. That's why the children get the upper hand. And no, locking children in a closet is not acceptable. It is inhumane! Get counseling.

Of course, for those who can't afford it, Blanket will give you free advice. She's the expert, so says she!
