The Center or something like it was needed in Nashville, but the problem is with Dean and the way that it was done. Dean has lost all credibility and that is where the problem lays. He has taken money from other needed resources and put so many at risk. He raises money for the schools and then cuts the school budget. I think in the long run this Center will be a boom for Nashville and TN, but the lack of truth is the problem. Dean wants the Fairgrounds more than anything, and we must not let him have it. We need a new mayor to look at the Fairgrounds and give it what it needs to become a great place for TN and its visitors. It can be done.

Maybe if you dig a moat around the fairgrounds and fill it with gators and piranha it would be a place people would consider going after dark.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 10:01

Maybe if all the money raised by the Fairgrounds had been used as intended, the Fairgrounds would be in great shape & a beautiful venue. But, with Dean & his left hand crook Dozier, ask them where the money went.

Make sense: Why would people consider visiting gators & piranha after dark? Or, daytime for that matter!

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 10:03

pswindle - When a place can't even pay it's utility bills without going in the hole, how will it survive? That has already been reported how they way underestimated expenses on the Karl's White Elephant.

People...I was only in Nashville for 6 years....but, Opryland is in the middle of nowhere.
Dtwn Nashville has so much to offer tourists: ...history, CMHF, Bridgestone, Titans, Shirmerhorn, tour buses, trolley, Tootsies, etc.
The jury is still out, but let's see what the balance sheets say in 2-4 years. At under $600 million. people will say Dean was a visionary genius.
Jerry Jones spent $800. million of his own money to build a $1.2 billion Cowboy Stadium out in Arlington, TX. Anyone saying he's an idiot?
The new 49ers' "Levi Stadium", in San Jose', is costing $1.2 billion and only holds 68,000 people! My God, U-Michigan Stadium held 108,000 and it was college.
We'll see.

Loner: A "Slipery Slope"...seen that roof line?

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 10:38

Slippery slope to ridiculous? The MCC roofline looks like a musical staff...wavering in the breeze...with the neck-less body of a humungous guitar sitting on the staff....Architecture by Squidbilly Associates?

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 10:40

I think that they should have made the thing look like a giant treble clef......(just kidding).

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 10:41

A humungous harmonica?

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 10:44

Skateboarders will be using the roof of the MCC for years after it goes bankrupt? Nuthin' but half-pipes...gnarly.

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 10:46

So, what is the street address of the MCC?

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 10:50

Loner - My thoughts exactly, except I thought sleding, if we ever again get show.

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 11:18

The Google satellite view is that of an incomplete structure...the wavy roof is groovy, man...like real hip...I'm thinikin' Wavy Gravy....far out!

But, then again...it looks like the crust on a baked lasagna? Yeah, that's it...a lasagna with a guitar-shaped slice of mozzarella on top...mouth-watering....you(s) got a mingya mansion there.

62 comments, 29 of which were from a whimsical $46,000 dollar a year nitshit failure posting from New York state.

Then we have the welfare deadbeat Dargent7 posting critical remarks about Nashville and the wealthy from San Jose, California while owing the state of California in excess og 100,000 dollars for inpaid medical care.

No wonder thw peoductive class has retreated to private schools and gated communities, cou.tel clubs and second homes in communities unreachable by welfare class and their class envy wannabees and unables.

It makes one appreciate the the Indian caste system.

Don't miss the 1 comment from a leech, neer-do-anything misfit that drops his turds in every now & then. Eh Raspy?

By: Loner on 5/17/13 at 11:30

So, when it rains real hard, these "valleys" in the roof will drain the huge volumes of water somewhere, I suppose....we certainly would not want some finger lakes forming up there...but, I'm sure that the architects factored all that in.

Same goes for that airfoil effect that the building seems to suggest...a building that size will probably effect the local micro-climate-micro-meteorology....does it have its own Zip Code?....Is it all in the same time zone?....I mean that sucker is sprawling....gotta be cavernous in there.

BHO ought to be invited to assist with the ribbon-cutting? Nah...Rush Limbaugh, but not BHO.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 11:36

Doubt is Dean will share his EGO SHRINE with anybody else.

By: dargent7 on 5/17/13 at 11:36

Learn to read correctly, then comprehend what you just read...
I have PRAISED the MCC and mayor Dean at every turn. The Center, Symphony, CMHofF, green bike lanes, etc.
I have praised how much Nashville has to offer tourists.
I am offended by the proliferation of semi-automatic guns in honkey-tonk bars, venues like the MCC, parks, and car trunks.
I do believe the Titans stunk when I was there, and believe they will stink in 2013.
Just because you're aged and stuck in Music City don't blame the ones' who got out.
And you and your friends try to get medical health insurance beyond age 35 with a "pre-existing condition". Won't happen in America until ObamaCare takes effect.

This is a gem: 62 comments, 29 of which were from a whimsical $46,000 dollar a year nitshit failure posting from New York state.

The Rasp actually took the time and he put in the effort to tally up my posts....he's such an up-suck. My greatest fan?

I now have a new title: "whimsical $46,000 dollar a year nitshit failure".

I'm not just a nitshit failure, I'm a whimsical $46,000 dollar a year nitshit failure....that's class, Nashville style. Thanks, Rasp.....I needed that.

But....alas...the Lone One must depart the board at this time....the big thumper is ready to go.....me too....see you later....you alligators....after a while, crocodiles.

Estan muchas damas aqui hoy con bocas grandes y cerebros pequenos.

Y, no tienen huevos. Nunca. Nada.

By: Jughead on 5/17/13 at 11:55

I don't like most blacks.

Gays are annoying drama queens.

Muslims are animals whose DNA demands that they kill humans for sport.

Mexicans are o.k. if they don't live in my neighborhood. (They party too late).

Have I left someone out???

Oh, forgot...liberals are the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel scumsuckers.

I apologize to blacks, gays, Muslims, and Mexicans for associating them with liberals.

By: Captain Nemo on 5/17/13 at 12:50

Raspy old boy once more demonstrates his lack understanding about the people of this board. The only people I know that make $46,000 or less are bud, the flea and Raspy himself.

By: Jughead on 5/17/13 at 1:05

I never knew welfare paid more than $46,000.00. That explains it, Nimrod. Thanks.

By: yogiman on 5/17/13 at 1:07

You can resign your NRA membership, bfra. But you mention them "using" the children in their action. Tell me, what did Barry use in trying his gun control episode?

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 1:14

yogi - Why can't you ever make sense?

By: Captain Nemo on 5/17/13 at 1:26

The flea doesn't know very much or a better come back. He has to be in yogi's family tree.

By: Jughead on 5/17/13 at 2:11

Nimrod molests collies.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 2:25

Trolls usually accuse others of what they are guilty of themselves. Proven fact!

By: Jughead on 5/17/13 at 2:33

bfra farts cheescake.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 3:27

Yep - Jugs, yogi & Raspy all gravitate around that anal area. Gotta be a relation!

By: yogiman on 5/17/13 at 3:58

I'm sure glad I'm not related to you, bfra. You release your gas too loud and the smell is awful.

By: yogiman on 5/17/13 at 4:00

By the way, bfra, put a couple of tsps in your beans about 20 minutes before they're done and it will sweeten and lower the volume of your gas. Try it, you might like it.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 4:11

Trolls post & only prove what has already been said about them!

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 4:46

Never tried cooking beans with tsps. in the pot, but no brains yogi, thinks that is the way to cook.

By: yogiman on 5/17/13 at 5:23

Well, bfra,

Your 3:25 comment identifies yourself to the maximum when you remarked; "trolls usually accuse others of what they are guilty of themselves. Proven fact."

You seem to know so much you have to be more foolish than the others.

And whatever you claim to be other than a "troll" proves it.

By: bfra on 5/17/13 at 6:37

yogi - You can't even use someone else's words & make sense!

By: yogiman on 5/18/13 at 5:38

Especially trying to use yours, bfra. Or should I say urine for yours?

By: yogiman on 5/18/13 at 7:48

May I apologize for your ignorance? Looking at your 2:07PM post of yesterday I thought you was intelligent enough to understand what I meant when I posted; Tell me, what did Barry use in trying his gun control episode?

I thought, as such a fan of his, you would understand his arguments of gun control based on the assassinations of those 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown.

My humblest pardon, please. I was so unaware of such ignorance.

By: bfra on 5/18/13 at 9:11

yogi - You ignorant old fool, the 2:07PM post was your stupid comment. Get a life!

By: yogiman on 5/18/13 at 11:23

My humblest apology, bfra. I meant your ignorant remark at 2:14 unlike you, I put the wrong number in my post.
