Vanderbilt coach James Franklin again finds himself on the wrong side of public comments. What's your reaction to his "inappropriate" comments? How critical is too critical when it comes to a public figure's comments? Given his past history with attention-getting comments, do you think he'll learn a lesson with this latest kerfuffle or should we expect these verbal flare-ups as long as he has an outlet for comments?

I think it is time for metro council and the Tennessee legislature to step in with bills that ban all "inappropriate comments". We simply cannot tolerate this reckless behavior in our state. We could create a whole new branch of law enforcement, the ICP (Inappropriate Comment Police). Just imagine how many college scholarships could be created by collecting a quarter for every "IC" violation.

Apparently the coach meant a joke but it cam out the wrong way. But the message I've just received isn't a joke. It's about phone area code 809.
You get a note on you call referring you call a number to receive a "gift". If that area code is 809, 284, 876, don't dial it. If you're calling from the US or Canada you will be billed $2425 PER MINUTE for that call.
This can be verified by AT&T at www.att.com/gen/press-room?/pid=6045
Snopes also verifies but that's too long of a code for me to view with such small printing.
Only you, "yogi" could make a call that gets billed for $2,425. a minute.
"Lotta Goo" only charges $4.95 per minute. Takes about 5 minutes to get you goin'.
A deal in comparison.

Yogiman: As the site I recommended explains, not all numbers with one of the designated area codes, e.g. 809 are exorbitant. A friend's number that one knows to be valid would be priced at the caller's international contract rate. Any unknown number requesting a call for any reason should be avoided.
I understand what you are saying, bnakat. I was simply passing on a message for a possible saving of a 'ripoff' on a phone call. One where you received a "message" when you didn't answer your phone asking you to return the call.
The message I received said the 809 area code, and the other two, was in a foreign country. My thoughts made me wonder if all numbers in those area codes set up a ripoff dial or if only one number was a ripoff dial.
I don't know, just trying to save my co-posters a possible theft. They must make their own decisions.
