Up for Debate: Full audio or push for state income tax?

Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2:01am

The state GOP is using an audio recording to raise concerns that a Democratic candidate, who claims her remarks were taken out of context, is supporting a state income tax. Which side do you believe? Bonus question: What's your reaction to news of a deal between the NFL and its locked-out officials?

Politicians are simply political referees and their "calls" are often as wrong as a sports referees.

You have a few good ones who are trying to do a good job. You also have some that don't know how to do a good job. And you have some that's only interested in what they can get out of in in their person favor.

Anyone perfect should be standing beside God.

Not to change the subject but everyone might want to view the point of our [president] having religious Iftar dinners in our White House.

I'll tackle the bonus question. Get it yogi?
They had to act immediately. The scabs were ruining the game.
Most were either legally blind, mentally challenged, physically challenged, or all three.

Yesterday I learned alot on this board.
I found out 'bfra' was really a woman. 'Loner' and 'gD' aren't gay, and 'Nemo' doesn't like to dress up in drag.
I still believe 'Blanket' is a woman but today, who knows what'll be revealed?
And 'yogi' is, well still 'yogi'.

yogi@ 4:35:
Please put on your glasses.
What's "religious Iftar dinners"?

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 4:36

First, dargent7,

I believe B2 identified herself as a woman. I could be wrong. I didn't log it in my file because I didn't give a d@mn.

Last, you can check Iftar out with google or bing. Bill Clinton started it and G. Bush carried it on. It is basically for any religion but I understand Obama is honoring the Ramadan of the Muslin faith.

After all, he's one of them.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 4:39

Edited that is the key word here. Anytime you edited something then you have changed its meaning.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 4:39

Good we can get back to some real football now. The owners have been wrong about their stances about the referee’s worth and need. Buy the people their worth and get on with the game.

I think you meant the movie "Istar" starring Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty. It sold 10 tickets.

And nobody here "identifies"him or her self. We assume the gender, sexual preferrences, by the tone of the posts.
Like with you, we assume you're crazy. Just an assumption, however we're usually right.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 4:47

There you go again dargent, talking to yourself.

Btw; I am sorry to here that you are headed to Hurricane country. ;-) I hope that you have a good time and you might have a visitor someday, because the Keys are on my Bucket List.

You made your comments about your fellow posters... but you don't really know them, do you?
Unless you've met them personally and created your opinion or gained personal knowledge about them, you don't know them because they don't want you to know who they are. That's why they have personal IDs on this site because of their idiopathies.

Just think about it, you and I are the only two on this site that is known because of a letter to the editor. It's obvious we aren't trying to hide ourselves but the rest of them are.

Only 41 more days, dargent7, and we'll know which one of us is the idiot... or the idiots.

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 5:02

It might be seen as a movie, but no, dargent7, those Iftar dinners aren't movies. They are dinners honoring a religion. And as I said before, in Obama's case it's the Ramadan.

By: dargent7 on 9/27/12 at 5:32

I've been here over 5 years...5 years too long as it turns out.
We all can gather about a person's mental status, integrity, intelligence, etc. by what they post.
98.9% of what you post is about Obama and his ineligibility to be President, even though he's been sitting in the Oval Office for almost 4 years.
Romney buried his campaign and himself by his May comments about the "47%".
No way can he overcome that.
If Obama is re-elected, and you continue with your "usurpation" bullshit, then someone here needs to call the men with the nets and take you away.

The referees win is a win for all working people. The owners attempt to control the employees has backfired and now the unions has a victory.

Rasputin will have something to whine about today the poor baby.

By: Rasputin72 on 9/27/12 at 6:36

Romney was beaten well before he made his remarks about the 47%. The 47% had already made up their minds that the only way they could vent their frustrations was to buy into the class warfare strategy of Barack Hussein Obama.

All Romney did was to identify for the record that there were 47% of Americans who paid no federal income tax. I repeat No federal income tax.

There are two chances of this statistic going down in the foreseeable future, slim and none.

I no longer know what a typical American family really is, but I suspect that the productive class will get a little bit smaller and the underclass and the lower class will get a little bit larger.

I am still trying to get someone to tell me where middle class starts and lower class ends. It would also be interesting to know where middle class ends and upperclass incomes starts.

Barack Hussein Obama has earned enough popular and electoral votes to make election night a non-event. The 47% are solidly in his corner. 25% are solidly in the corner of any Republican that is a candidate. The remaining 25% seem to be split about 60/40 in favor of anyone who will tell them that they have a financial future in this country. Obama offers that through socialism and taxation of the upper class, Romney cannot compete with that and neither can any other Republican.

The United States is just another country with the bomb and a has-been reputation. The ordinary fellow has been in the process of being sold=out by democrats and republicans since 1946. Inch by Inch by Inch the glue that was America has been diminishing.

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 6:45

Everyone has their own thoughts, including me. And you are entitled to yours. As I've stated before, if Obama stays in that office illegally, as he is in it now, will wake the people up. We will become a communist nation.

Just looking at the known facts of his past, the is no way he can be a natural born American citizen as is required by our founders to become President.

And as I've stated before, Obama didn't pull this off by himself. The political agenda was in the arena with him. But voting for him for reelection after he has put us so much deeper into debt, you'll deserve what you've got.

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 6:55

Good morning, Nashville.

The "secret recording" is getting to be the most effective political weapon since the "campaign donation" was invented.

Secret recordings that are edited in a ham-handed fashion, like this one appears to be, may still fool the GOP party stalwarts, but reasonable people see it for what it is...a contrived smear job.

Actually, the state of Tennessee will never reach its full potential, as long as it refuses to charge its own citizens for services rendered by the state and as long as the state remains a leading recipient of federal welfare payments.

When the citizens of the Volunteer State refuse to to pay any state income tax, the rest of the nation has to pitch in to keep the state from becoming a third world basket case....we are tiring of the burden.

Most states have figured this out....Tennessee just does not get it....you get what you pay for. TN prefers to be a moocher state....barely getting by.

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 6:58

The US is an heir of Greece. History shows a nation of voters don't last much longer than two centuries. We've had 31/5 decades over 2 centuries. When the people discover their government will give them a hand, they will vote for those in office.

A helping hand is one thing but a permanent handout is another. The 47% Mitt Romney mentioned is in the handout programs. After all, it isn't costing congress anything to hand our money out. It's their way of robbing from Peter to pay Paul. Peter being the taxpayers and Paul being themselves.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 7:00

The GOP does not just have secret types Loner, the edit and distort them too.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 7:07

My little friend Rasputin, Romney never had anything to start with and that includes collections like you. You can blame the world for all of your wretchedness as you wish, but in the end it all falls on yourself.

How whine some more. It pleases me to hear you.

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 7:12

Two points, Loner.

First; Mother Jones "lost" two minutes of that tape recording. What happened? Was it "erased"? Why? Was more recording made on that tape after those "lost" minutes? In whose favor?

Second; why did the federal government take over as the states parents? Why did the states "volunteer" to take federal money for their own benefit? Don't the other states know how to provide for themselves or do they just prefer a federal handout? The federal government gets that money from the state's citizens. They then use it for control over the states.

I think it should tell you we have been in a socialist situation for decades. They're just trying to bring it out in the open. They are our parents, not our employees today.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 7:14

I just love how people post here their predictions of future out comes as a fact, only to be seen as a fool.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/27/12 at 7:16

yogi, if you want to complain about the 47%, return your government "welfare" check that you receive. Otherwise, you're really just a big hypocrite.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 7:16

Rasputin, if you have to ask, then it can never be explain to someone so how of touch.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/27/12 at 7:19

That is a lost cause, Blanket. Just (click) and you will get better results.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/27/12 at 7:23

You're right, Nemo. How are you doing? :)

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 7:31

As for the scab refs, let us hope that the nation has learned some valuable lessons here....you get what you pay for...it is stupid to be penny wise and dollar foolish....collective bargaining is a force for the collective good.....without enforced regulation, the entire enterprise quickly deteriorates into a farce.

These lessons apply to our economy in general, IMO. We should all learn from this episode.

Raspy just wants someone to tell him how to get those grey poupon stains off of his once black ascot.

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 7:35

Maybe the NFL should discount the first three games of this season? Should the standings be re-set...everyone is now 0-0....let's consider the scabby games to have been preseason games?

Just sayin'.....

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 7:39

Bfra & Rasp: If one uses chlorine bleach to remove the Grey Poupon stains, the blackness of the ascot will be compromised, or ruined.....so, it's best to leave those yellow "polka dots" on the ascot...they are, after all, proof of authenticity.

By: yogiman on 9/27/12 at 7:41

Sorry, Loner,

I must disagree with you again. You don't always get what you pay for. Too often, you pay for what you want but when they deliver, it ain't what you wanted. And too often you won't get a refund.

Physical services is a prime disappointment on that issue.

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 7:45

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 7:47

Loner - I know that! Raspy, on the other hand, is searching for a pompus alternative.

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 7:49

d7 - Being familiar with the Detroit area, do you think they have found Hoffa?

By: budlight on 9/27/12 at 8:10

Rasp said "I am still trying to get someone to tell me where middle class starts and lower class ends. It would also be interesting to know where middle class ends and upperclass incomes starts."

It is not a dollar ($) sign, Rasp. It is a mind set which is made up of morals, ethics, convictions and life style. Some with $$ are low lifes and some who are dirt poor are tantamount to Kings. For instance, Bill Clinton showed his lack of ethics and morals when he humiliated his daughter and wife while in the white house (or in his case the OVAL Trailer). That is now an event which is rubbing salt into the wounds of his family cause the Queen of the Trailer Trash Low Class is now getting 12 million to tell the sordid details. Who really cares? Answer: Other low class voyers.

There are many other instances, but I think you get my drift.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/27/12 at 8:16
yogi, if you want to complain about the 47%, return your government "welfare" check that you receive. Otherwise, you're really just a big hypocrite.

Blank, Yogi has paid into social security all these years ACCORDING TO THE LAW, and for that he has and should have a reasonable expection for a reasonable return of what he was promised by the government. I'm sure that anyone on this post who has a legitimate job which withholds taxes, etc., is paying into the pot and will have an expectation for a reasonable return.

No one collecting what they have been told they would collect are getting charity. They paid into it.

It's the people who never contributed who are the hypocrites. You are probably not old enough to collect and quite possibly have never worked. For all we know you are the 47%; you sure sound like it. But I'm sure you will respond by quoting your grandiose life style and how your kin left you wealthy. And if that's true, you are a hypocrite for not writing a bigger check to the government to give to the poo folks.

Now which one of you lives on Priest lake Drive? lol

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 8:13

Good question...what does Darge know and when did he know it? A dying man's tip may lead the police to finding Hoffa's corpse and at the same time, D7 heads for the FL Keys....and a waiting speedboat? I smell a conspiracy theory here...

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/27/12 at 8:14

yogi gets a government subsidy that doesn't have to do with SS or Medicare. Just ask him.

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 8:15

Romney must be wanting pay back for all the jobs he has sent over seas, he is having a fund raiser in Hong Kong.

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 8:15

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 8:19

Loner - Saw a suggestion on the internet, that man with the 35yr. claim, might just want a new driveway. LOL

yogi gets a government subsidy that doesn't have to do with SS or Medicare. Just ask him.

The problem is blanket, we don't actually know what you get, or from whom or what. So have you fessed up everything? Probably not. If Yogi gets some type of subsidy, it's probably because he earned it.

Obama has had fund raisers all over the world. Who cares? He lets his kids listen to J-Z trash music. I bet they watch porn too cause he's such a free press kind of guy, unless one is trashing Muslim in a movie. Then he's all over it.

Romney is not the only one who sent jobs overseas. Carter, Bush, Bush, Reagan, Clinton -- we've lost jobs during all their presidencies. Yes, and even Little Lord Fauntlee-bama!

Romney will win and be a good President.

Now which one of you lives on Priest Lake Drive?

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 8:21

Blanket - Now you know, bud knows all about her favorite & fellow troll. LOL

By: bfra on 9/27/12 at 8:21

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 8:24

Romney had a big fund-raiser in Israel a few weeks ago, now he's milking the fat cats in Hong Kong...the man is a global citizen....thanks to his magic undies, he does not get "jet lag", according to reliable sources....the garment acts like a spiritual G-suit, keeps his brain supplied with blood, regardless of G-forces, jet lag, time zone confusion, culture shock etc.

By: Blanketnazi2 on 9/27/12 at 8:29

bfra, it's the whole mentality of making things up instead of accepting facts. Unbelievable. Notice how yogi is quiet because I can post a link showing where he has received payments.

By: Loner on 9/27/12 at 8:32

Bud is curious: "Now which one of you lives on Priest Lake Drive?"

That's easy, it's the Rasp; he live son Priest Lake Drive...under the Bell Road overpass.
