Up for Debate: General Assembly wrap-up

Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 2:04am

Based on what the Tennessee General Assembly passed and failed this session how do you rate the job legislators did? What should have been done differently? What should have passed? What should have failed? What shouldn't have even been up for debate?

yogiman said

"I prefer my Constitutional rights our founders put in order for us."

Pray tell yogi...

Why don't you educate us on the history of the 2nd amendment? What year was it ratified? What were the various arguments pro and con? Who took which position among our founding fathers? What were the arguments put forth in the Federalist papers? Why was the wording of the amendment changed from "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free Nation" to "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State"?

I'm sure a wizened gentleman as yourself can just rattle off the answers to all these questions.... seeing as you seem to know all about it.

My mistake, yogi. You should take a look at your 9:12 to grid. Your 9:56 was edited.

Lunch is still offered for you.

Tenn. ain't Calif.
This state is full of laws...the green kind.
Plastic bags at groceries are banned.
There's a .05c CASH CRV deposit on all bottles, glass, cans.
If Jerry Brown doesn't die in office, the're building a 220mph bullet train from San Fran to San Diego. Costing $100. billion.
There's already a Light Railthat zips around.
Building a $1.2 billion NFL Stadium in Santa Clara County for the 49ers opening in 2014.
Gay rights, gay marriage, CalFresh foodstamps, monthly GA assistence of $149.....the list is endless.
A Light Rail in Nashville will take 10 years to build.
However, the housing ave. $850,000 and rents are $1,250. for a 1 bedroom. Tenn. rents are $450. for a 1 bedroom. Sylvan Park a nice bungalow was $280,000.
At 60, San Jose State University will pay for your BA degree.
Sun shines 345 days a year. Not an earthquake since 1989.
Shall I go on?

Well, brrrrk,

I'm sure you don't need to be given the dates of our Constitution. But it became our guide in 1789 on Dec. 15. Remember; when George Washington was sworn into office? And I'm sure you've also read quite a bit of history which indicates many of our founders argued like hell back then; just like we're doing today. So the USA hasn't changed too much, has it? We Americans haven't ever changed our arguing rights, have we?

And I'm sure you remember the first ten amendment were added to that original little booklet in 1791; after they had argued about them for a couple of years. Amazingly, they finally agreed to them.

I don't know about you, brrrrk, but I'm grateful I had the parents God gave me (or gave me to) and we had the nation's founders we had, and that little booklet they put together for us to live by; second only to the Bible.

I just wish the politician of today would use God and our founders as a guide.

I lived in Monterey after my discharge back in 1955. I enjoyed it quite a bit, especially the bars in Carmel by the Sea. The USA is a different nation today.

California is a sinking financial ship. There is absolutely no way it can maintain its insane spending.

But, the potheads and "progressives" will keep taxing until all industry leaves.

BTW--did you see the filthy stinking mess that all those "green" people left in Golden Gate Park on 4/20 day? Disgusting insincere pukes who never practice what they legislate. Get high, trash your park, and then march for some moronic "green" cause.

I hate liberals.

By: yogiman on 4/23/13 at 12:40

By the way, brrrrk,

Have you read the items in the First and Third Sessions of Congress... where they determined the requirements to be a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN?

I'm not sure any of the legislators (as I use the term loosely) in congress today have even opened the pages to the Constitution. They apparently don't understand what it means.

Just what I would have expected from yogi..... cliff notes.

By: bfra on 4/23/13 at 1:10

brrrrk - Remember, yogi said he edited the Constitution in a msg. to Blanket one day. So maybe this is his edited version. LMAO

By: Captain Nemo on 4/23/13 at 1:25

yogi edits his own post to fit his lies.

By: pswindle on 4/23/13 at 1:26

Thank goodness the session has ended for a while. They can't do too much damage for a few months. Maybe, Gov. Haslam is into giving the state some rebates, we will need it when al of the damage kicks in.

By: Jughead on 4/23/13 at 1:28

psswindle: I love how liberals HATE it when common sense wins. Move to California,NY, or Illinois if you want to have libfest orgasms while trying to enact more taxes.

By: yogiman on 4/23/13 at 1:49

Where do you get your notes regarding the Constitution, brrrrk?

By: Jughead on 4/23/13 at 2:26

Nemo tickles his twinkie while he figures his AFDC balance.

By: yogiman on 4/23/13 at 3:06

Ya know, bfra,

I believe you've accused me of lying for over 4 years now, but I can't recall one time you made a statement to prove I lied.

When ya gonna start?

By: bfra on 4/23/13 at 3:34

yogi - Don't have to start anywhere, you put lies on the board everyday. Example: You said you edited the Constitution is one. LMAO again!

By: Rasputin72 on 4/23/13 at 3:45

Michael R. Burch left for a funeral. At least that is the story that is circulating through an organization that is familiar with his modus operandi.

By: bfra on 4/23/13 at 3:46

Plus, you have put enough LIES on the board about our President to last a life time. So everyone knows you are DUMB, just try not to show it so much.

By: bfra on 4/23/13 at 3:53

jug - Are you still licking balls?

By: bfra on 4/23/13 at 4:37

See jugs, you are not the only one that can be crass, crude, rude & dumb! Doesn't look good, does it?

By: yogiman on 4/23/13 at 4:39

Tell me, bfra, when did I say I edited the Constitution? I've read it, many times, but to make a statement I edited it to make sure it was written properly? Gimme a break.

Quote me and give me the time.

And the man you call your president, whom you have no idea who in the hell he is? Accepting him as you president when he won't even identify himself proves you to be an idiot.

Apparently you aren't familiar with the requirements in the constitution to qualify to become president of the USA. It states you must be a natural born citizen. So tell me, how do you know where the man sitting in that office was born? Because he said he was?

Good Lord, woman, if you call me a liar, what do you call Barry, an honest law abiding citizen? But a citizen of what nation?

How can you be so sure he's even an American citizen? You can't, bfra. But both parents must be citizens to be a natural born citizen, not just one of them.

By: yogiman on 4/23/13 at 4:46

A little point, bfra, because you haven't read, or heard, points I've made about "Obama" doesn't mean they don't exist.

So tell me, have you not read his advertisement claiming he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii? Since he advertised it for 16 years you should have read it somewhere. Have you read his autobiography? If not, why not, if you admire him so much.I've got news for you, girl, if he was born in Kenya like he claimed for 16 years, what makes you sure he has ever been an American citizen? Do you really like having an Indonesian in that office? I don't.
