Hey, the Walton family found a way for Americans to get the cheapest price and still get high quality goods....they should be rewarded for that.
But, if these goods are cheap, because they are manufactured in foreign sweat shops, using child labor, indentured servants, prisoners etc. and if the goods are manufactured in flagrant disregard for the environmental impact and long-range sustainability, then the great Walton family fortune is based upon a great crime...like most great fortunes.
I only buy from WalMart if I can't find what I need from a local merchant. I'd rather pay a little bit more and keep my money home.
I was kind of surprised of the Carthage Courier printing my LTE on the issue with Christmas around the corner.
