I think where you miss the point is that you think people (or the common man, as you put it) are upset because others are wealthy. This could be no further from the truth. I personally know of no one who is pissed JUST because someone else is rich. What people are really upset about is the fact that the system is rigged in such a way that the wealthy have access to opportunities that the average American would never have available to them. Yes, we live in the "land of opportunity".... but if those opportunities are restricted they mean nothing. Opportunity and availability must go hand in hand.

And I suppose you got this from.......where............. WorldNetDaily?

Got news for you yogi, this country was never intended to be or ever was a "Christian Nation" Now pay attention yogi.......

The Treaty of Tripoli signed at Tripoli on November 4, 1796

Article 11 reads:

"Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

It seems to me that if the Tea Party stands behind a candidate it is the kiss of death for the candidate.

For once you are right (damn, how'd that happen?) The nation was not founded, or declared, to be a state of a religion. But in my time of being a citizen of this nation, it has been accepted for decades to be a Christian nation.

But, no, I didn't get that from WND. I got it from a remark I heard Barry Soetoro say (sorry, unlike you, I didn't make note of the date and time of his speech).

Does any of you pro-Obama fans know why an American company was denied biding rights on an aircraft by the current administration?

Go to www.redstate.com/aglanon/2011/11/21/obama-administraion-sends-weapons-contract-to-foreign-company-with-ties-to-iran

It seems George Soros has a connection to the Brazilian company that was given the contract without bid.

International relations, perhaps?

The Tea party favorites have been, Sarah Palin, (never ran) Donald Trump, (died of embarrassment) Herman Cain, (His love life caught up to him) Michelle Bachmann, (not enough followers that think she is right of mind). Now will their pick Rick Perry or maybe Rick Sontorum, will be all that is left for them to choice. Can they stomach Mitt Romney or Ron Paul to push the button enough to vote for a Republican?

I'm going to say this one more time. It does not matter where President Obama was born, he is still an American citizen because his Mother is an American citizen. Is this not waht you said about Mitt? Although he was born in Mexico, his parent make him an American citizen because they are American citizens. You can't have it both ways. I have a friend that was born in France and she is an American citizen because her parents are, but she is not a citizen of France.

Don’t feed him pswindle, it is best to ignore him.

Treaty of Tripoli... that was signed right after Jefferson summarily slaughtered all the wacko Muslim Pirates that were attacking our merchant ships, right?

By: yogiman on 1/4/12 at 3:38

I'm not going to ague with you on this because of your obvious ignorance on it.

Try re-reading the situation about Mitt Romney. He was born in the US to American citizens. His father was born in Mexico to American parents. He is a natural born citizen. Do you think for a minute that issue would be left unabated today?

I'll say one more time, read the laws. Obama's mother was only 18 years old at his birth. By the residential laws of 1961 she had to be 19 years old to pass her citizenship on to him, no exceptions given. She could not pass her American citizenship to her son. He got his father's name and citizenship from birth.

You mention your friend that was born in France to American parents. Agreed, yes, she is an American citizen. France does not have the same citizenship laws as the USA. She may, or may not, have been given dual citizenship, depending on the laws of France.

And that has what to do with America being a Christian nation? Oh, I know.... can't fight the battle, move on to another one....

Substitute the "sn" with a (f) and the "k" with a (t) and you'll have it spelled right by your way of thinking.

Given that you don't get it.... I'd say No.

By: Rasputin72 on 1/4/12 at 5:16

Brrrrk..........What opportunities do you think the common man does not have? This could be very interesting.

By: yogiman on 1/4/12 at 5:35

I get it, brrrrk, but its obvious you don't. A person with a common sense would be able to read that facetious question. Sorry you're lacking.

By: Loner on 1/4/12 at 7:05

Yogi is obsessed with the birther thing...we all have known this since the first day he started posting here....his name-calling and uncivil tone adds to the annoyance factor....his arrogance, born of ignorance, is barely tolerable....if his goal is to drive people away from the NCP posting community, he is succeeding.

I used to feel sorry for the guy, thinking he was uneducated, uninformed and unhappy...but I can now see that he enjoys annoying us...and this guy claims to be a retired corrections officer...I'm surprised that a sadist like Yogi survived to retirement age...Yogiman is - in plain, everyday, unfiltered English, - an ASSHOLE.

By: yogiman on 1/4/12 at 8:29

Let's get a few things straight, Loner. I said I worked as a correctional officer at the Atlanta Federal prison for a few years. And if you would look, I made a comment about the inmates "looking out for me" because I treated them as men, not criminals.

I believed then, and I believe now, many innocent people are imprisoned because of our so called justice system. When a prosecutor refuses to allow evidence to be presented by the defendant's lawyer, and the judge approves it, that certainly isn't justice. I did not retire there.

Dig a little deeper into that pea pod and you should find where I commented about retiring from the NWS. Back then, that was the National Weather Service. For your record, counting my time in service, my time in prison and my time monitoring the meteorological systems develop, I retired after 38 years of federal service.

As my being obsessed with this "birther" thing, call it what you wish. I'm obsessed with a man sitting in our Oval Office who is in that office illegally and he knows it. Facts are facts, and don't hand me that racial crap. You don't know me.

You comment about me being uneducated, uninformed and unhappy. Unhappy, hell yes. Unhappy the Senate allowed that usurper to take that office. Uneducated, uninformed? You're obviously speaking for yourself by accepting someone in that Oval Office whom you know nothing about. Hell, Loner, you don't even know one day of the man's history. And you accuse me of being uneducated and uninformed? Look in your mirror.

As I said before, I've only tried to give you and your fellow posters information on this man but you all are apparently so in love with him you can't see beyond your nose'. Call me what you wish. I can't wait until the next election.. if we have one.

P.S. If you have any intelligence, you might look into Hillsdale College. You might get a little free education from them.

I had grammar errors earlier. This post corrects them and includes a few more comments.

The Koch brothers did not obtain their desired ROI when they invested their money in Perry. Santorum may win SC as that southern state fears Mormons. Santorum is too radical to make it all the way. Currently, Newt who is the “Self Proclaimed Intellectual" is aiming his gun at Romney. He wants to take him down. Since Newt cannot be the frontrunner, he is making sure Romney goes down too. Romney is the only viable candidate which is why the Tea’s are concerned. They are all so pathetic including the "independent" Ron Paul.

The Teas are still complaining about Al Gore as noted in this post. So sad and it is too bad. He won the public vote, but the ideological Supreme Court struck him down. So, in essence the Supreme Court elected the crack head Bush. If the people’s will to elect Gore had stood, we would certainly be in better economic shape than we are now. This is because Gore would not have unilaterally started a war with Iraq and drafted public policy that pushed people who could not afford homes to purchase them. The Bush motto was every American should own a home. Yeah right!! Gore would have been a leader in combating climate change and has faith in science instead of faith in voodoo like the Tea Nuts. Koch’s and ALEC would be subdued.

Remember the Bush war cry "Get him dead or alive. “ Well he could not do so. Instead Obama had to finish the job. So who is the real man? It is certainly not Bush, the wimp and former alcoholic. By the way, Condi Rice must be in mourning since Obama killed her boyfriend Quadafi in Libya. Yes it is so true. He had a thing for Condi. I guess that is why Bush left him alone. Bush had a thing for Condi too.

Bachmann was and is a complete joke, a fool, and an embarrassment to the State of Minn. She is similar to Palin-a nut job. All of the Tea Nuts made fun of Hillary Clinton 24\7. Hillary is smart which just kills the Tea Nuts. They prefer whack jobs like Bachmann and Palin.

Our country is no longer the shining light in the world. We are owned by oil interests like the Koch’s who amassed billions from favorable government policies and the benefit of corporate welfare. The Tea Nuts are financed by The Koch’s and others like them who hide in the shadows. These corporate greedy nut jobs now own the USA.

So the real winner in Iowa: President Obama!!
