How do you feel about the new iPad mini? Do you see it as a logical next frontier for the company and handheld computers in general? Or is it a dud or a jump-the-shark moment for Apple? Bonus: What do you see as the most important technology right now?
I don't plan to buy the mini. The most important technology is wind and solar power.
It came on the market 50 dollars higher than the highest pre-launch estimates.
Being among a group of approx 50 minis it probably will only do OK-even for apple.
This does, however, remind me that Steve Jobs once told Obama he would be a one
term president.
Steve Jobs was a great promoter. I hope he was right when he told Barry he would be a one termer.
This does, however, remind me that Steve Jobs once told Obama he would be a one term president.
Is this the six degrees of Obama with you nuts? I'm beginning to believe there is some serious mental illness involved with your obsession of Obama. You, yogi and Ben should get a room. Preferably in another country (or better, planet).
Back in reality, I suppose it would be easier to say that Apple is on the way down and that Jobs was infallable and his lose will ultimately destroy the company...to those, I'd say simply, Ping.
Those Android commercials about the sheep in line for the newest craze isn't too far off.

Good morning, Nashville.
This subject, (iPad mini), is of little interest to me.....let the geeks speak...I'll kick back and listen.
Loner - Like wise!
You seem to be a good reader and writer, gdiafante, but you apparently don't understand the meaning of the Constitution when you read it.
The offices of the president and vice-president are the only two offices in this nation that requires the candidates to be natural born citizens of the nation. And apparently you and your fellow posters don't understand what the term natural born means. And I can assure you it doesn't mean just being born in the USA.
If that was their intention, any child born to an illegal alien in the US would be eligible to become president. All they would have to do would be to live in the US for 14 years and be 35 years old.
Barry Soetoro is the prime reason our founders put that term in our Constitution. If he was a natural born citizen, why has he spent millions hiding all of his personal papers? He's really suckered you guys and is making idiots out of you.
And as I've said before; he's just one man. Our congress is our biggest worry because they let him usurp that office. The next 13 days will be the wildest presidential contest this nation has ever had.

Oh, by the way, gdiafante,
Should Ben and I get a room large enough for you and your fellow ignoramuses?
I doubt it, but maybe we could teach you the meaning of the Constitution and explain why communists like Barry Soetoro shouldn't be in that office.

It's a shame we have so many mentally declined citizens in the US as we have today. Hopefully, unless you're Barry's fellow communists, you'll learn your ignorance quick and come back to the good old USA. You won't like living in the new USSA, unless, of course, you're on the ticket with Barry.

I suppose we will hear from the four insane trolls that we are jealous.

6 degrees indeed, g!
Wake me up when someone says something interesting...until then, sleep mode...
zzzz
Have a good sleep, gdiafante. If Barry pulls his stunt off, you'll wake up like someone threw a bucket of ice cold water on you.
I should have added; unless you're a co-communist with him.
In the future we could see a time when mental ills is removed from the insane and used as a filler for pot holes. But I don't think that some will ever see the that light.

I hear that Apple plans to sue the Kotex company, for patent infringement of mini-pad technology.
I do look forward to the possibility that science has to offer man kind, but I don't have the same hope for the cure of troll'dumbs.
I love it slacker.lol
LOL, slacker.
Yeah slacker LOL, that would have been a better topic than what the NCP offered today.

Now THAT is funny stuff. Thanks, Slack, we needed that.
Are you identifying yourself as stupid, dumba$$? You don't have to, we already know it.
It has been brought out Barry had the information and request for support before the murders at Benghazi, but Barry took no actions.
He lied about it from the word go. No one was killed in Nixon's Watergate lies, but 4 were killed in Obama's Benghazi's lies.
Nixon stepped down when he was shown to the public. Barry refuses to step down for letting those 4 people killed.
Anyone who votes for a usurper so willing to let someone get killed to stay in office deserves what they get.

The troll dropping stench is nasty today!
I'm an old-fashioned guy...I'm content with my flip phone and my desktop PC....when it's upgrade time, I let one of my grandkids get the new device.
I went out for a brew or two last night ...I noticed that in the three bars that I visited, a lot of the patrons were on their phones....patron to patron communication may be on the way out...folks would march into the bar, while talking on the phone...outside, the smokers would be on their phones too.....on the sidewalks, pedestrians strolled with cell-phones engaged, as drivers drove by on the street, while yakking on their phones.
It was kind of a Twilight Zone feeling....as if I was the last human on earth without a communicator....and nobody noticed or cared, their minds were all elsewhere.
I think Apple products are over rated. I have an Android and am very happy with it.
Anyone pinched their nose and voted for Coop yet?
The old-white-guy-blue dog-voted for amendment to ban gay marriage-twice Cooper.
I'd just think you guys would be falling all over yourselves to get to the polls and vote for him and that prize you've got running for senate, Mark Clayton.
Ben, do they have ipad minis? That's the subject today.
I've noticed that too about the phones loner. People talking or texting on their phones and oblivious to the people around them.
Someone called for a change of subject, Blanket. I was just offering one that struck my mind when I was standing in line to early vote Saturday. Looked like a very different crowd than last presidential election.
One hour at one early voting site on a Saturday being highly anecdotal though.
After ready bud’s 9:34 about rape, I wonder if she really reads what she post or does she have a secret wish for any man to have hss way with her?
I remember Dick Tracy's two way wrist radio.
People considered Dick strange, for talking into his wrist.

Does anyone here prefer an Apple phone over an Android? What are the pros/cons? I just don't get the facination with the Apple brand.
Back to the questions posed by the NCP:
Q: What do you see as the most important technology right now?
A: My crystalline spheres of clairvoyance are not responding to the query....they rely upon Wizardry, not Technology.
I can venture a guess or two. Certainly battery technology is an important part of the answer....storing electricity safely, without using batteries, must be a hot area of research.
Hopefully, somebody is working on a way to convert heat directly into electricity...I mean something beyond conventional thermocouples. I'd like to see somebody build a motorcycle that is electric powered, but uses no batteries...to power my fantasy bike, a Presto Log would be inserted into a combustion chamber, one would hit a button to ignite it...and after a few minutes, you'd have all the electricity you need to do highway speeds...right now, such a machine remains a fantasy....but if somebody can imagine something, sometimes it can be done....like they say, it takes both inspiration and perspiration.
Maybe I should challenge Red Bull and Presto Logs (Dura-flame etc.) to build my fantasy bike?
And the iPad mini just seems like a lot more money than the Kindle without much more benefit. But then, I'm not a gadget girl.
Gasoline is the same thing loner. The reason it's so widely used is because of the energy density of a gallon of gas is so high and the transportation and delivery is so much more efficient compared to the presto log.
I like my Android Blanket. My wife likes her IPhone too; but she's always complaining. I think it might have to do more with relative estrogen levels than the quality of the electronics though.
