Up for Debate: The replacement refs

Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 11:51pm

There's been some growing chatter in the world of NFL fans about the replacement referees and the job they are, or aren't, doing. How do you feel about the job the replacements have done? Have you seen blatant instances of either loss of control of the game or worse-than-normal blown calls? Do you worry that the NFL isn't too concerned about bringing back the regulars because the league knows the viewers are still going to watch either way?

Parting thoughts....
Anyone who debates "yogi" is brain-dead.
This complete idiot thinks any black man can just walk into the White House.
He was never elected to the IL state Senate, was never vetted, his resume is 100% bullshit, his birth certificate is fraudulent.
He never went to Columbia, graduated, then at Harvard just walked in and started teaching US Constitutional Law.
Never got his degrees legally...just stole them from his powerful family. (that all were dead by age 10).
Obama is a true American success story.
And these assholes want to deny him his success and spend every waking hour tearing him down.
Any wonder why America is in the tank? Too many jerk-offs in America.

EEEEEEEEEEK Crash; avoidance mode now activated.

CRAP!!! ;-<

Amen, brother Dargent...well-said.

See, now Romney could learn from your eloquence...lol

The captain hits a troll's road apple and slides off the pavement...are you OK, Captain Nemo?

By: Loner on 9/19/12 at 8:46

D7 hit the nail on the head...."too many jerk-offs in America"....only a disturbed master-debater with masterful masturbatory skills would argue otherwise.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 8:47

I'll been alright Loner and thanks for asking. lol

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 8:49

Not sure where slacker is, but the stock market has been doing good and I think Ben must be happy or he would be here.

By: Loner on 9/19/12 at 8:51

The captain crawls out of the smoldering wreck....waves to the crowd..."I'm OK!!", he yells....WOW....that's one helluva wreck....troll droppings are not just unsightly and malodorous, they can cause sudden loss of traction, if hit at speed....beware.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 8:54

And the stink is horrific too, Loner.

If Little Bennie has the brain cells everyone here seems to think he has, then he is wisely not trying to defend the indefensible.

By: yogiman on 9/19/12 at 8:59

My computer must be different from yours gdiafante. It wouldn't give me that show. But I've got a question for you: I girl was born in Hawaii the same day Obama claims to have been born there. She died the next day and with all of the hullabaloo, her brother asked for a copy of her long form birth certificate but they refused to give it to him. Why? What are they hiding?

By: Loner on 9/19/12 at 9:00

Yeah, the stock market looks a lot better today, than it did back in September 2008, during the profit-taking stampede and financial frenzy that followed. Obama has done quite well, considering that so many powerful and selfish interests are aligned against him.

Employers will start hiring if Romney wins....the self-fulfilling prophecy effect....but they may continue to "lock out" Americans from good jobs, if BHO is re-elected...and if the House remains in GOP hands....nothing substantial will change...the intransigence will get worse, IMO....these guys are sore losers.

By: gdiafante on 9/19/12 at 9:01

dargent7,

I'm just wondering: What kind of damn fool are you going to feel like when your man Barry is exposed. You and your buddies continue to throw the crap around. All I and any other who you're calling idiots want is to know who in the hell the guy is.

You "say" he did this and he did that; prove it. If he did those things, why does he have his papers, including his birth certificate, in a concealed vault? So tell us "wanna knows" who in the hell he is.

If you could, you would, but you can't, so we've got 50 days to see who the damn fools are. Welcome to the club of damn fools on your side of the fence.

- Yogi, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012...

I'm thinking that yogi just really wants Obama to be exposed...not that there's anything wrong with that....

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 9:22

I saw a lot of Teleprompters at the GOP Convention, but not one comment by the dim-witted folks from the far right. I wonder why…could it be that they were not prompted by Rush and FOX News?

By: yogiman on 9/19/12 at 9:25

As I've said before, gdiafante, I'm not as skilled on my computer as you are on yours. But then, I'm not a mental child like you. But I'm obviously a hell of a lot smarter on evidence than you and your fellow posters. Why? Because you so readily accept someone whose thumb you've put on the "red button" in our Oval Office when you don't know who in the hell he is.

All of the evidence he's given on TV makes you bigger fools than you started out to be by not even questioning him now.

Question: Why did he thank John McCain for not mentioning his Muslim faith? Why did he advertise his birth place of Kenya for 16 years before changing it when he threw his hat in the ring?

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 9:25

I did take a shower, Loner. Now back to the fun.

Ah, my old friend, Ben Dover quietly, but boldly, enters the forum and without any salutations or preambles, throws a single link out there.

Of course, I went there and gave it the Evelyn Woods speed reading treatment....here's the author's final line:

"This presidency is a disaster. Reasonable people are gobsmacked at the possibility that it could somehow be allowed to continue its degradations of American society."

I Googled the word gobsmacked:

Definition of gobsmacked
adjective
British informal

utterly astonished; astounded: the locals were gobsmacked when us lot trooped in

Derivatives
gobsmacking
adjective

Origin:
1980s: from gob3 + smack1, with reference to being shocked by a blow to the mouth, or to clapping a hand to one's mouth in astonishment

Source: http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/gobsmacked

I also Googled the author's name, Quin Hillyer:

Snippet from Wiki: Political views

Hillyer is a classical conservative; his writings maintain the principles of limited government first theorized by James Madison and most closely held in recent years by Ronald Reagan. Hillyer’s writings are also respectful of the Madisonian contribution to American liberty and politics. His writings distance itself from the single-issue focus of some religious conservatives, and is especially distrustful of big government conservatives, particularly over taxation and deficit spending policies. Among a number of columnists, including that of George Will and Charles Krauthammer, Hillyer was resolutely critical of the spending policies of Bush administration. Hillyer has also expressed concern of the administration of Barack Obama. (End Snippet)

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quin_Hillyer

Mister Hillyer seems to be sane...how cold he support Bishop Romney for Commander-In-Chief, as more Holy War threatens to result in a lot more than these alleged " degradations of American society"?

These Holy Wars are threatening Western civilization, as we know it...still, Mr. Hillyer would put Romney and the neocons into positions of power. John Bolton is Romney's chief foreign policy adviser...he would be Sect. of State?

I was gobsmacked and sent Googling, when I read Hillyer's hyped up hallucinations....thanks, Ben.

Hillyer cuts through the spin... and offers a concise criticism of most of Obama's record. I was going to do that myself but I ran across this article and Hillyer did a very respectable job; thus saving me the trouble.

gdiafante,

As I've said before, Obama is the least of our worries. You better "keep your eye" on Congress.

Why did the permit a man to usurp the Oval Office when they obviously knew he wasn't Constitutionally eligible?

And as I've said before: It's going to be interesting after all of the hullabaloo when the states place him on their ballot when he refuses to prove his eligibility, or they even ask for it. It's also going to be interesting if the Electoral College vote him in office without affirming his Constitutional eligibility and if the Senate approves their vote also without affirming his Constitutional eligibility.

If it looks like he's losing, will he "give it up", or declare a state of emergency and try to place us under martial law?

Only 50 days for the painting on the picture to be completed and the oil to dry. I hope I like the finished picture. I'd like to stay in the USA instead of moving into the USSA.

By: BenDover on 9/19/12 at 9:39

I thought I'd throw Slacker a bone Loner since, sans you guys screwing around with the retard, this place is a total Obama-worshiping circle-jerk anymore.

Anecdotal Nostalgia:

Ben, when I peddled the mail, only one patron got the American Spectator, by US Mail, and I had over 700 mailboxes on my route....he was an eccentric elderly man....lived alone in an old farmhouse that was being overcome by the surrounding vegetation...I only saw him once.....he was one of the first people to go online, however....he was no dummy...but very odd.

Ben, Obama is a reneger....no doubt....but the alternative is unacceptable...imagine, Sec.of State John Bolton and the neocons formulating US foreign policy, while our POTUS, Bishop Romney again poses and prays at the Wailing Wall, wearing a black yarmulke:

By: gdiafante on 9/19/12 at 9:55

I thought I've been pretty clear on my dislike of Obama's policies regarding keeping the idiot Bush Tax Cuts in place and not having a backbone. As Loner said, the alternative is much worse.

The alternative is let's do everything the same way as we did when we created this mess. Brilliant.

By: dargent7 on 9/19/12 at 9:58

The work site didn't need me...so I'm back.
Had some time to reflect on what I posted.
Obama is the stellar examplary figure of a person who Romney's taking about in his bull shit speeches.
Self-made, played by the rules, was highly successful, became someone. Proud. Rose to the office as president of the United States. My math may be off but only 46 others accomplished the same.
Then you get a gang and gaggle of nut-cases who tear him apart.
Demand to see his college transcripts, deeds to his house, marriage license, DMV records, birth certificate, eye examination report, medical records, and want to see the length of his johnson.
America is in deep do-do and this type of behavior is exactly why.

NYAH....NYAH.....ya missed!

I actually find Stein's stuff to be well-written and entertaining, Ben...same for Kinky Friedman....and of course, Noam Chomsky.....but my favorite Jewish author of all time is Theodor Herzl.

BTW, the racial slur, "Hymie" should trigger the word filters....just kidding....I never use that word or the "K" word.....I never use, "Jew" as an adjective. I do not align myself with David Duke et al.

By: Loner on 9/19/12 at 10:07

True that, D7, BHO is only half-black in genotype, but his phenotype is black; therein lies the rub. If BHO was more Caucasian in phenotype, his blackness would not irritate the racists in your political camp....although his voice is quite "white-sounding", Obama's facial features and complexion are negroid, hence the birther issue and the sore-loseritis.

By: BenDover on 9/19/12 at 10:09

I think you've misdiagnosed what 'created this mess' gd; but that's a long-standing disagreement we have.

I think vast expansion of the CRA using the justice department, financial regulatory authority, and lawsuits by community organizers to force lending institutions to write bad loans finally came to a head.

I remember one side speaking out about putting on the brakes and getting rid of the implicit taxpayer guarantee and the underwriting of the loans by the taxpayers through Fannie and Freddie. And I remember another side pushing the 'home ownership as a right' side of the argument and laundering taxpayer dollars through Fannie and Freddie back into their own campaigns.

Given that weak foundation electing a closet Marxist as president was just too much to for the economy to bear.

By: gdiafante on 9/19/12 at 10:11

Nice site, Ben. I loved the article about how the Clinton recovery is not repeatable, which assigns a statement that attaching a President's name to a recovery or recession is like saying we have a "Kardashian recovery". Too many outside forces.

Of course that article was right in the middle of others blaming the President for the lack of recovery...yawn.

By: dargent7 on 9/19/12 at 10:13

Ok, Obama got there on a fraudulent basis.
Was born in a mud hut in Kenya, transported to Hawaii where his mom fictionalized his birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertizer. She was a slut who slept with black Professors from foreign countries.
Then, sent him off to Indonesia to go to Hiogh School.
He comes back as an illegal alien, enrolls in Occidential College, fakes his birth records, then enrolls in Columbia under an alias, then gets admitted to Harvard under another alias.
Receives a JD degree and teaches. He bought thru his connections all his SAT scores, ACT scores, letters of recommendation.
Runs for the US Senate, as an illegal alien, wins, and decides to run for President, knowing he was born in Kenya as inelligible, Constitutionally. Figures a half white, half black man can fool America.
Wins.
And 45%+ of a dumbed-down America hate his guts.
Yeah, sure.
Who'd respect a guy who did all that?

By: gdiafante on 9/19/12 at 10:20

Selective memory is great, Ben. Those poor banks, bullied by the government and community organizers...someone should really look out for them...I mean, they knew what they were doing was wrong, but hey, they made us do it is a sound defense...

I also remember things, Ben...like many people not really complaining that home ownership was at a high...in fact, that was the excuse to justify dumbass policies, no?

Of course, bubbles burst...it just so happened that this bubble took everything else with it, including half the wealth of the working class. But that's not important, nor is actually planning to get out of it, it's far more important that we assign blame and then keep whining about it like a little girl who wants a lollipop.

Well, in that case, I'd say mission accomplished.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 10:21

Dargent tries to rationalize the rambling of a troll instead of pushing the Button. Does this mean he wants to keep it?

By: govskeptic on 9/19/12 at 10:23

It would appear the NFL needs a tough guy like Bibi to run the organization.
I don't think he has ever been accused of Union busting.

By: Captain Nemo on 9/19/12 at 10:27

Selective memory is a great tool for the GOP, gdia. It means they can pick and choose which direction they can blame someone else for their sins.

By: Loner on 9/19/12 at 10:28

I went to Ben's chart-happy site, offered in his 9:59 post. Looks to me like the stats argue for increasing taxes on corporations (the special interest) in order to make things more equitable.

Taxes pay for the the "guns & butter"...defense and social welfare programs. We need both...we demand both...but deciding who should pay how much is the problem.

According to Ben's site, of all federal taxes, Individual income taxes account for 47.4% of the total federal pie, Social Security taxes account for 35.6% of the total and corporate taxes contribute only 7.9% of the total.

So, it looks as though the social security tax is contributing more than a third of the fund for the "butter" and the people are contributing nearly half of the total "guns & butter" fund.....but the corporations, who often are the beneficiaries of government regulations etc..... (that's why they bribe the politicians with their campaign "donations")....but corporations are not contributing nearly enough to the "guns & butter" fund, according to the data presented.

Increasing federal excise taxes is another alternative revenue-generator...the states do it all the time. The old "sin tax" is always popular with the religious conservatives.

Assigning blame is important if you are going to use your view of the history to form your political paradigm.

dargent7,

You've heard of the book; "Dreams from My Father". I think you might like to see a display of a DVD on Barry titled, "Dreams from My REAL Father".

go to www.wnd.com/2012/09/media-bypass-dreams-from-my-real-father-mailed-to-one-million/

If you like that one, go to the one Barry put out in 1995.
