What do you think about Mitt Romney's recent statements regarding Israel that angered Palestinian leaders?

Here's the ironic thing, darge. Even though Obama satisfied the required law by submitting his short form certificate, the birthers thought that because he didn't release the long form, he was hiding something.

Now, they defend Romney as saying that he's submitted the legal minimum (tyax returns) and that he doesn't have to, nor should he, release anything else...hypocrites.

By: gdiafante on 7/31/12 at 2:05

I think darge is right, loner, he's pandering to the retired Jew vote in Florida. But the reality is that all candidates will say whatever they need to in order to get elected. All of them are liars.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 2:24

Correction: "Morons" S?H?B "Mormons"....Freudian slip....no offense to innocent morons intended.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 2:31

I agree...wealthy retired Jews in Florida may be the key voting block given the flawed "battleground state" realities of our electoral process....the Super PACs are backing Romney....wealthy Jewish tycoons, like Sheldon Adelson are the high rollers from now on....Sheldon knows how to game the system....he made his fortune in the gambling industry....Obama may be the first victim of the Citizen United Decision...factor in the GOP voter suppression program in the battleground states.....Romney and the Israelis may take the White House as Occupied Israeli Territory come November.

By: dargent7 on 7/31/12 at 2:42

I've read that there are 100,000 Israelis, legal to vote in Israel, in the this US National Election. ( er, erection).
Romney knows he'll need every single last vote to win the W.H.
Why else would a Bishop in the Mormon Church wear a yamika at the Wailing Wall?
And his wifey cries for "the molecules and stone blocks"?

Note to "Birther's: Remeber Thomas Eagleton? Was McGovern's VP pick. Turns out he had electro-shock therapy...dumped.
Palin didn't know what she had and read on the coffee table.... LOST.
Obama rose fast, but the electorate had over 1 year to pounce on him and get him to drop out.
They underestimated him, to their peril.
So, during his admin., they attack. "We want to see your papers". "Now?" FU.
Too little, too late.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 3:03

Darge, the Israelis would never tolerate Americans meddling in their elections as we tolerate Israelis meddling in ours. No member of the Israeli Knesset has received any cash from a PAC dedicated to promoting American interests......here a list of who got what from the Israel lobby in just this past election cycle:

http://maplight.org/us-congress/interest/J5100/view/all

Romney is a dangerous religious fanatic who could easily rationalize doing evil, if it is justified by some noble goal. All the rel9gious fanatics believe that the ends justify the means....that's a formula for international disaster.

The Israelis would use Romney as their sock puppet....Holy Wars Suck.

Note that the #2 top recipient of Israeli cash is freshman Senator Mark Kirk...a Republican who now occupies Obama's old seat in the US Senate.....it's the proverbial writing on the wall....the Jews are going over to the Republican side of the aisle.....Kirk is their newest sock puppet in the Senate.....their will more Jewish switch-overs coming soon......Romney has flipped the Jews.

Around 2pm today, I submitted an unflattering comment to the ABC comment board here:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/mitt-romney-blames-press-overseas-controversies/comments?type=story&id=16894680#.UBgnHKCimnB

The post was about Mormonism, Judaism and Christianity and that, IMO. the Great Theocratic Wars of the 20th & 21st Centuries will shift into high gear if Romney wins the US Presidency....the post never saw the light of day at ABC.....it's the Helen Thomas effect...once again..

The same post was posted at the NCP immediately and without reservation....ergo, the NCP is a bastion of free speech and ABC is not.....who knew?

By: Rasputin72 on 7/31/12 at 3:26

The wealthy Jews are Democrats to the core but they are not socialist. This fellow Obama and his drive to provide income for not working to the underclass and their cohorts is enough to scare any Jewish person into a dither.

I think the wealthy Jews have waited long enough to realize that if they vote for Obama they are voting against the things that Jewish people love with all their hearts. It is called money,,money and more money.

The wealthy Jews I think over the last couple of weeks are pouring money into the Romney campaign/. I have heard that the wealthy christians over in the Florida panhandle are pouring money into the Romney campaign.

I commend their efforts but my money goes to unseating the democrats in the senate. Obama is a shoo-in for November. Get Ready!

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 3:30

The "Battleground States" effect does not apply to Senatorial races, hence the change in strategy....it's actually easier to purchase a US Senator or US Rep than it is to purchase a POTUS.....the Israelis recognize a bargain when they see one....they buy low and then sell high....Obama's old seat was a genuine steal....Kirk sold us out on the cheap.

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 3:42

Loner,

If Mitt Romney is so pitiful for being who he is, even though he readily identifies himself, how can you consider Barack Obama is so good of a man for refusing to identify himself?

And consider, Obama could also have served in the military..., but he didn't. So what makes him a better man than Romney?

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 3:47

gdiafarte,

Investing your money in foreign nations is not tax evasion. It is a wise decision if you're extremely wealthy; and it would be stupid not to.

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 3:56

I'm amazed, Loner. You can forecast what Romney will do the day he enters office. WOW! What is the basis of your knowledge except your hatred of Israel?

By: Captain Nemo on 7/31/12 at 4:03

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 12:43

Let me ask you a stupid question: If you was a multimillionaire, would you put all of your money only in banks in the USA?

Any question you ask is a stupid question and the answers you want are stupid. Now go Yogi yourself and see if you don't get a stupid question as to why Obama is President.

yogi got away from the Brush Creek gun shop in a hurry! Next time in there yogi, if ever, ask about that lady that came in late Fri. & bought a box of .38s.

Now that lady will surly put the bull yogi in his place. LOL

gdiafarte,
Investing your money in foreign nations is not tax evasion. It is a wise decision if you're extremely wealthy; and it would be stupid not to.

Translation; I put my money in other countries so I don’t have to pay my share of tax. Only problem is I can’t remember where.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 4:17

I am now banned on ABC comment boards....all posts that were not denied have been deleted and now I am unable to log in....Helen Thomas understated the Israeli influence on US media....it is pervasive and powerful....I am now banned on three Jewish-owned media sites....I consider that an honor....these folks are undermining our republican and democratic ideals....Israel is a police state with a controlled media and we are now following suit.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/31/12 at 4:21

I'm amazed, Loner. You can forecast what Romney will do the day he enters office. WOW! What is the basis of your knowledge except your hatred of Israel?

Day one;

Romney gives orders to install elevators in ever room of the White House.

Next he gives orders to have a dog house built on Air Force One, with AC.

Late that after noon, the US starts a third Republican War.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 4:22

Romney is a Bishop in the LDS faith...but notice how the media do not call him "Bishop Romney"....the Israeli forces that control our media do not want Romney's theocratic nature to be fully revealed to the US voter...it's a deliberate cover up....Romney's zeal for Zionism will probably win him the election....the media is on Bishop Romney's team....quietly advising from the sidelines.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 4:24

Captain, I ignore the troll's drooling rants...he's a racist A-hole who deserves no respect nor replies.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/31/12 at 4:26

You sure Yogi out of luck there Loner, when it come to your freedom of speech You are being Yogi on at every step of the way.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/31/12 at 4:28

yogi is a four letter word, Loner. Most of this stuff goes over his head anyway.

I glad you are back Loner. You have been missed.

I glad lol shb I'm glad.

Rasputin72,

I believe you're wrong on Obama's re-election. I've seen too many poles with him way behind.

Go to www.iowntheworld.com/blog/?p=143445 and see what that young black woman has to say.

yogifart, you don't read polls of sane people, you only read trash & garbage site polls.

By: Captain Nemo on 7/31/12 at 4:40

bfra

That should be yogiYogi. Not yogifart. lol

By: bfra on 7/31/12 at 4:42

Nemo - Fart is used so much in yogi's comments, I thought it very appropriate.

By: dargent7 on 7/31/12 at 5:23

Last thought: In the Mormon religion (cult) they baptise you when you're DEAD, so you may receive a solar system in the afterlife and become a God.
Wait until they vett Romney on this 100% faux "religion" of his, and wifey, Ann's.

By: Loner on 7/31/12 at 5:30

Romney praised the Israeli health care system, but he never mentioned the state-sponsored Israeli abortion mills....the media sidestepped that part too....apparently, Romney believes that Israeli women have a right to choose...American women do not?

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 6:35

bard fart repeating again, eh, bfra?

By: yogiman on 7/31/12 at 6:42

You're right on your 4:37 post, [big] bad farts repeating again. That's why I read your posts.

I wish I was as smart as you think you are but you keep showing your ignorance too much.

Weds. 08/01
If there's no new topic to bash around today, I have one:
What moronic fool came up with the idea to start school Aug. 1st?
In my day, the roaring 60's, we went back to school after Labor Day, around Sept. 5th.
We still had all of August to steal cars and blow up sewers.
Going to school in the middle of summer isn't going to work.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/1/12 at 6:05

Dargent7........One of your very best posts cam on 8/1/12 at 5:55AM

By: Ask01 on 8/1/12 at 6:09

dargent7, this is part of the school board's ultimate plan to institute the year round school plan, except I believe they have termed the plan a 'comprehensive' or 'bablanced' school schedule, or some such nonsense.

Personally, I like the idea of shorter gaps in the school calendar to improve the educational process. Let's face it, one of the reasons for the three month break was to allow children to help on the farm, but since so few communities are agrarian based, why continue?

I do, however, believe starting school in August, traditionally as I recall, the hottest part of the summer is lunacy. How many 'heat days' will be lost because schools and busses are deemed too hot to be safe for students?

Better, I believe, to attend school from 1 September to 30 June. This will also reduce expenses operating and maintaining air conditioning systems.

But what do I know? I'm only a parent.

By: gdiafante on 8/1/12 at 6:18

Is it any cooler in September? Not so much. If room temperature were the issue, school would only be in session from October to December and March through the beginning of May.

I agree the ultimate goal is year round school, but I think it's from a misguided sense that if a child is in school more, he/she learns more. Of course, there are so many more factors, like student motivation, home support, teaching abilities, student capabillity, etc. that come into play as well.

By: Ask01 on 8/1/12 at 6:21

Oh, and as to the actual topic, Romney has proven his ability to embarass himself and the nation while setting the stage for a possible continuation of war in the middle east.

The primary beneficiaries of his visit to the United Kingdom was providing fodder for the British press. You must admit "Mitt The Twit" has a certain ring to it as a catch phrase.

As far as Israel, I believe the comments are aimed at American Jews more than the Israeli people. The IDF will, in my opinion, conduct any operations they feel necessary to defend the country or pre-empt a perceived or actual threat regardless what we, the United States, say or do.

I would say the presumptive Republican nominee has generously sown the seeds conflict in fertile ground, hoping the upper class will reap the benefits of a wartime economy the few middle class and many lower class will fuel and fight.

By: gdiafante on 8/1/12 at 6:29

Well, Ask, if you poll Conservatives, they credit WWII for ending the depression far more than any social programs that FDR instituted, so it makes sense that the only thing that would stimulate economic growth, to them, would be war.

That and the fact that Washington is the MIC's b!tch...

By: dargent7 on 8/1/12 at 6:39

I think we have to let kids be kids.
Summer vacation is June thru Aug., 3 months OFF to go to the pool, get a summer job, do something with the parents for 2 weeks....
Maybe they want to make up the CLOSED for snow/ ice/ cold days?
Every winter, except the last, Nashville CLOSES school if two flakes drop.
In Michigan, where temps were zero all of Jan. and Feb., we never had a closed school day. Not once.
Look at Minn., WI, S. Dakota, N.Dakota. It's 10 below half the time. Highs of zero.
School is always open for business.

By: gdiafante on 8/1/12 at 6:45

I agree they pull the plug early here, darge, but let's put it in perspective. Nashville's climate is such that they don't need snow/ice removal equipment. We have salt and brine, that's it. Minnesota and the Dakotas are equipped to deal with their harsh winters.

By: dargent7 on 8/1/12 at 7:13

This whole "Global Warming" thing, concocted by Al Gore, might very well change the school calendar.
Last year might be a freak.
We'll see about this year.

By: gdiafante on 8/1/12 at 7:20

If you're talking about winter, I think the year before was the "freak". The pattern is mild winters and hardly any snow.

It wasn't always like that. I remember missing over a week of school in 9th grade because we had a massive snow storm (massive for TN...which was around 6-8 inches of snow) along with sub-freezing temps for over a week. We had a decent snow about once a week through Jan and Feb that year (1985 I think...). A few years later we got nailed with 8 inches (that's what she said).

Going further back, my parents have pictures of a blizzard on their wedding night...which was late November...

By: Loner on 8/1/12 at 7:35

Good morning, Nashville.

Seems like we have been left behind once again...no new UFD comment board....this one is cumbersome....after the first page is filled, navigation is slowed considerably and the board is less appealing.

As for school starting on August 1, that story was covered here:

http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/city-news/earliest-ever-start-school-begs-question-will-kids-show

Since the US-Israeli special relationship is still within the parameters of the original topic for discussion, I'd like to offer this link a fresh Jerusalem Post article:

http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=279653

The story is headlined , "Panetta prepared to use 'other options' to stop Iran".

I am banned from posting on the Jerusalem Post, even though I am a Disqus subscriber in good standing. The Israeli press is highly controlled and viciously censored.....kind of like it's getting here, in the states....an obsession with national security is part of the national Israeli psyche.....thus they have become a militant police state.

Here is the text of the post that I had intended to leave on the JP comment board:

Oh yeah, there is going to be another Holy War in the Middle East; this time the Israelis will attack the Iranians in another preemptive military strike.

When the Iranians retaliate, Congress will force the US President to come to Israel's aid....it looks like Obama will not need much coaxing to join the conflagration; he has sent Panetta over to Israel to coordinate the sham, scam and flimflam.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been forever tainted; Barack Obama is a war monger and a vassal to the Israeli Prime Minister.

With "allies" like Israel, who needs enemies?

By: govskeptic on 8/1/12 at 7:44

Burch of course was the first to continue the totally BS story on Romney's
taxes based on a totally reckless story by the unscrupulous Sen. Reid
who states it's based on one unnamed person's call to his office. What slander!

By: dargent7 on 8/1/12 at 7:47

I've only been here 5 years, and two years ago we had an snow/ ice "storm".
It was Dec., I think, and everyone abandonded their cars on Murphy Rd. in West Nashville. Couldn't make it up a 15% gradient hill.
GD: Were you concieved during that blizzard your parents experienced?

By: dargent7 on 8/1/12 at 7:51

re: Romney's taxes and returns.
My guess is that 99.9% of all middle class Americans DO NOT have off-shore bank accounts.
Just a guess.
Romney has 3.
He paid 13.7% on his Capital Gains.
Most Americans fall into the 28% range, with no Capital Gains, just W-4 income or a 1099.

By: Rasputin72 on 8/1/12 at 7:53

LONER.......You are banned because you have a bias against Jews. My goodness I can imagine everyone on this board being banned for something. We are all biased against something.

By the way I would hardly think any Jewish organization would want to see your rants on their website.

You always make a good point but hardly something the Jewish people want to read or hear.

By: gdiafante on 8/1/12 at 7:53

Nope. I'm the youngest...

The hills and winding roads have something to do with it darge...and people here barely know how to drive when it's dry, much less in rain, snow or ice.

But the panic factor still cracks me up...the local media loves to start a panic if flurries are expected...I wonder...if the forecast is for drizzle, they don't care. If it's flurries...lookout, better watch out for that run on bread and milk...

Nashville is preparing for possibly the worst winter storm in 5000 years...weather forecasters say that there's a .00005% chance that the area just north of Antioch, for about a two block radius, may experience snow flurries...Davidson County schools will close early in anticipation and it's recommended that drivers use caution and only get out if necessary...

By: Loner on 8/1/12 at 7:54

BS, Gov? Please explain. Do you have credible privileged information that is exculpatory, from Willard Romney's perspective? If so, please enlighten us.

I just love it when the "little people" apologize for the fat cats who are ripping us all off. It's prime evidence to support my theory that we become self-bullshitizing as we age.

The victims of larceny are rationalizing the perpetrator's actions. It's mass hysteria.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/1/12 at 8:10

How can you say that Romney’s questionable tax mystery is BS, Gov? He don’t have money in other countries or he does have any tax records to show past 2 years?

By: yogiman on 8/1/12 at 8:25

Romney is being blamed as a tax cheat because he has off shore accounts. If you had the wealth he has earned, would you be stupid enough to keep all of your money in the US markets so you could lose it if, and when, the nation went bankrupt?

I imagine Romney isn't the only one in DC with all of their money in US markets only.

I'd say if Romney wants to win that election without question, he should vow to take the USA out of the United Nations.

The UN has been working toward a one world government since the day it were founded.
