Following dozens of deaths in the Caribbean, Hurricane Sandy's expected landfall in the Northeast has already severely impacted the region with mass closures and transit service stoppages. How destructive do you think the overall impact will be to residents, infrastructure, the economy, etc.?

Thanks for your concern, folks...I live in the far West of New York state...West of the Finger Lakes...between Rochester and Buffalo....NYC is about 400 miles from here....when we think of the "coast" we think of the Northern Coast, the Great Lakes.
We'll get hit, but it should not be so bad here...we may get snow, however....just in time for Tricks & Treats.
I enjoyed myself Sat. night at a Halloween Party at the C&S Saloon...I went as Willie Nelson...no make-up needed...just my black leather cowboy hat (purchased in Nashville,TN), a read bandana around my neck, a Willie Nelson T-shirt on (just in case they need a hint), my black leather duster, boots, blue jeans and a Paper Jamz guitar...lots of hot young chicks forced me to pose with them for pictures...life is good...lots of the "kids" asked me, "Where's the weed, Willie?" Next year, I'll pass out J's to those who ask me that.

Blanket - 1 daughter is going to be "9", whatever that is. She tried to explain it but I am not into movies like she is, so her explaination was lost.
Glad you enjoyed the report from the C&S, Bn....some young hottie had a zombie-faced make-up job...that and a red corset, a black tutu, wild black panty hose and high heels....all the young studs were sniffing around that...she left, arm in arm, with another girl....lots of that going on these days.
The drunken and frustrated young males (this is a college town) then started howling and issuing macho threats against each other. after the bars closed..like young bucks in the rut...the cops were out in force at closing time...I waited until a ruckus started up the road, when all the cop cars gathered at that scene, the Lone One slipped out of town in the DJ5-L....young chicks yelling after me, "Take me for a ride!"...no I don't make this shit up....that old postal jeep is the biggest chick magnet I have ever seen....must be the tie-dyed privacy curtains and the aroma of incense wafting out of the vehicle....certainly couldn't be me.

Yes, we had a high time out behind the C&S Saloon...the local cop shop is also back there, behind a stockade fence...it feels especially gratifying to smoke a big fattie, while watching the fuzz go about there business, some 30 yards away...I smoke just outside of their olfactory zone.

Hi Yogi, et al; hope hurricane does not harm any people; hope they take cover and evacuate to protect themselves.
I'm hoping we don't get too much of it here. I went to Titans game yesterday; there were some, well, not exactly good calls, by the refs. But since I'm only a spectator, who am I to complain? The titans sort of got robbed on a couple of calls. BUT overall it was good. BUT way too cold; our seats would have been awesome if they were in the SUN. Shade is not good on windy cold days.

Yeah sorry about that Kosh...I tried to talk all those militant gays not to relase this bad boy so close to the election, but they wanted to get back to their school recruiting so badly, so my voice was never heard...
The storm is supposed to hit here around five o'clock...EDT....got my flashlight & candles ready...we have a well with a hand pump, so we can use buckets of well-water to flush the toilets...also have a 2.5 KW generator...and we have a wood burning stove, if we need to use it....plenty of NYS wines on hand...we should be good to go.

JERUSALEM (JTA) -- The Likud Party reportedly voted overwhelmingly to approve merging its candidates list with the nationalist Yisrael Beiteinu party.
Likud members gathered Monday at a party convention in Tel Aviv to vote on the proposal floated last week by the Likud chairman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yisrael Beiteinu head Avigdor Liberman, the foreign minister.
A move to put the vote on the proposal to a secret ballot was denied at the convention.
The proposal included stipulations that the Likud head will choose the position of the party's candidates on the list, as determined by a party primary, and that the two parties will be represented on the list with the balance in the current government -- 27 seats for Likud and 15 for Yisrael Beiteinu.
Israeli general elections are set for Jan. 22.

Yes the Hurricane is news, but the same news outlets ignored our floods 2 years ago. FYI President Obama flew over Tennessee during the floods to go shut down the oil rigs in the gulf costing thousands of American's their jobs. He Also flew Over Tennessee again during our recovery to go to hurricane Katrina's 5th anniversary.
Why? Is the President a racist for flying over Tennessee twice because we are too white, too country, and too conservative?

It was reported that Air Force One wiggled it's wings as it flew over Memphis on that
particular fly over. Don't get too concerned over this event as the President is in the Oval Office on full alert with M16 in one hand for any terrorist and the phone to FEMA and Chris Matthews in the other. All is safe and well with the world.
